Minecraft on a slow computer is not worth it. So either fix the java problem on your good computer, wait for it on xbox (though mods and t-packs are unlikely to work on this one) or don't bother.
I heard that Optifine actually DOESN'T help your gameplay from lagging. And it doesn't matter which computer you buy it off of, as long as you download the launcher, you can play on any computer, or even on the browser.
I've heard the same thing, Cheeze. I think all it gives you is more video options to muck around with to try and get better performance.
For a while I had giant herds of pigs around my base and the same for sheep a bit farther off. Recently though they are all gone and are not respawning. I though it might be due to some of my large scale deforestation but planting trees made no difference. Mushroom soup isn't stackable which gets really annoying.
Optifine prevents rendering several unnecessary things that reduce your FPS. It also has a new version which allows minecraft to use more than one core. As a bonus it has several options to make minecraft look better such as filling in unrendered chunks with fog, mip-mapping to smooth out hi-res texture packs so they don't look grainy, and several options for animations, cloud layers, etc.
Hmmm... I may have to give this program a try. Should do wonders for me since I'm already running around 30fps at the low end.
I can vouch for Optifine. Just like stick, but I was going at less than 1fps with constant freeze to a smooth enough 20 or so fps. No idea how it made your recordings worse, bloo. That's pretty weird.
Xbox is ok. But the real reason minecraft is so awesome is the abundance of user created content. This pertains not only to builds but mods and servers for multiplayer. That is a whole aspect of minecraft that you are missing out on by getting it on Xbox rather than PC. I play on a Mac. I still prefer it over Xbox minecraft
Orly? Wouldn't surprise me. Now with the modding potential the pa3 has I could see tht working. / semi- troll [br][/br]Edited by merge: Btw, because bloo said he never saw my design for this: MineCraft: Rock, Paper, Scissor! Auto winner! - YouTube
Does anyone know how mob spawns work? I haven't gotten a single passive mob spawn near my home in a long time. How does one get optifine? Minecraft runs slow when I have other stuff in the background.
For mobs, I direct you to the Minecraft Wiki on Mobs Mobs - Minecraft Wiki For optifine,I direct you to Youtube. How To Download And Install Optifine For Minecraft 1.1.0(Remove LAG And Increase FPS - YouTube
I already read that and the pages for the individual mobs. All the stuff makes sense but doesn't explain the issue at all. I have a giant space of grass leveled out except for creeper craters and rows of trees in some areas. The place was swarming with pigs at one point and nothing I can find explains their sudden disappearance. Thanks for the optifine link at least.
