First minecraft experience: Go to 0,0 for OCD. Chop wood until dark. Dig a hole, store stuff, dig straight down to bedrock and place ladders on the way back up. At the bottom I hit a huge cave system that leads to a series of connected ravines, at least four, that go from bedrock to the surface. I still haven't explored the whole thing.
I never find **** in caves, I build my own. Seriously I must have gone through 200 pickaxes in the past week. 22 motherfucking diamonds, and my house is now built out of stone, so it doesn't burn down again.
How stupid do you have to be to build with wood? I've used about twenty stone and a tiny bit of one iron pickaxe for diamonds and redstone and stuff. At least twenty diamonds by now. I'm barely getting any cobblestone and I'm burning through torches like crazy, but I can complain. This place is really nice.
Wood looks far better than stone.. jus' sayin'. Rephrase the question to.. How stupid do you have to be to place fire close to a wood structure?
When you're only carrying a stone pickaxe a few ladders and whatever cobble you're digging on the way down, and you just slept in a bed right next to the dig site, dying doesn't matter. In the long run it's safer because there's no worry about falling off the ladder. Camofo, I prefer the look of stone for buildings. Maybe on a different texture pack it would be better, but I don't feel like finding one I like.
That makes more sense. Also, build out of whatever you want just make sure you are aware of how it can be affected. best thing to protect yourself from mobs in single player is obby to be honest. Only thing that cannot just be blown up by creepers.
The time it takes to mine one obsidian is egregious though. Building a house of it takes forever and expansion is a pain in the ass if you haven't pre-planned for any.
well at least you can build an expansion, my bedrock house can't be bothered by what I want to do with it. Spoiler I don't ACTUALLY have a house built out of bedrock
Safety Bum, just take like two pickaxes and hope for the best. Turn your game brightness all the way up, I haven't used more than ten torches since I started. Also, the wood looks much better IMO.
Why not use brick? I know you actually have to craft it, but since we're talking about aesthetic appeal and usability I'd recommend it especially since clay has been much easier to find since v1.8.
I build with wood because it looks better, and I'm not stupid enough to let fire touch it. Really doesn't matter if it does though, the house is built into a huge mountain, so only the front room (Which is damn big) is wood. If anything happens, I can just rebuild/pull back into the mountain. As for the brightness: Bad idea if you're playing on anything above peaceful. Torches aren't just for seeing; they stop mobs spawning too. And you don't want to be walking around when anything could just spawn at your back. Use torches. It's for your own good. Does anyone have any suggestions for settings and such for recording Minecraft with Fraps? I feel like doing a commentary with my new mic but don't want to end up doing it many times to try and figure stuff out.
I'm sad I haven't found any dungeons yet. I want to get some traps set up and don't feel like doing the work to build them above ground. I just decided to walk a few kilometers to get a feel for the biomes and found a ton of weird stuff. To name a few there were two herds of black sheep and one of gray sheep in the middle of a desert, a giant perfectly circular crater in a tundra biome, and some sand mountains. Of course I couldn't find the mushroom biome I wanted. What are your favorite texture packs? I don't like the the default one.
GoO Server is updating to 1.0 in the next few days. Also, I got bored when I was on there, so I set one of the towns on fire. (Dutch Bohemia)
Play around a bit while playing normally. Record 5 min of footage, stop. Change settings a bit, play again, etc. Record your voice through another program and not through Fraps. it gives you a much better experiencing editing, sound balancing, etc.
OH GOD MY HOUSE. OUR CLOCK TOWER. WHAT THE ****ING **** MAN. jesus man. jesus. dont do that to me ever again, you bastard *gets over heart attack*
