Shame you can't disenchant a weapon with the console, I don't use enchanted weapons.

I've used a hunting bow all the way to level 61. It does 175 damage now.

Yes, it is called the Nightingale Bow and you get it super-late quest in the Thieves Guild. Like, during the last one. Also, keep in mind that it is a leveled item, so it is only as badass as when you get it, and unlike the Nightingale armor, you can't come back to 'refresh' it ten levels later.

Basically, if you want the most badass bow of them all, wait until level 30

to complete the quest in which you kill Mercer Frey, because you receive the bow before leaving that dungeon.

Also, why the **** did nobody tell me that you lose the Skeleton Key?!?

After upgrades, Daedric is best, because Daedric can go to Legendary.

Can't the nightingale as well? Assuming you buffer your Smithing like crazy?

(Haven't tried it yet, just going off a rumor I heard)

I think it needs like 180 something, so if you can make it; more power to you. At that point you have already exceeded the max damage for bows though, so I don't think it matters.

I am avoiding smithing exploits, only stock potions and stock enchantments for me.

Enchanting to boost alchemy then alchemically increasing smithing isn't an exploit. Wearing an enchanted falmer helmet and circlet at the same time would count, because it's clearly an oversight.

I only started playing this again last night, because I've been so engrossed in Final Fantasy XIII.

I'm finding it quite difficult to get into again, it just feels like I've done everything, and everything else that's left to do is just the same old stuff.
I wish I had a PC and some decent mods.

Its not a by-the-book exploit but it sure is overpowered... Enough to break much of the gameplay. I like being challenged in every dungeon.

This. I'm only about 130 hours in (a lot for some, a little for others), but I feel I've already done and seen pretty much all this game can offer currently. I still haven't played it (or any other games) for a while, but I'll end up getting back into it eventually.

I haven't finished the main quest yest, so maybe there's something there that can give me more of a challenge. Until the DLC comes out, of course, and let's hope that there's some new and different environs/mechanics going on in them. If there's not, then I may just have to end up coughing up for the PC version and getting into the mods, as well as modding myself.

Have to hope that there's performance mods out that will allow my slightly under-powered machine to run Skyrim by then.

Finally got my hands on Skyrim today. Only played about a half hour so far and I'm loving it. Had to take it out to try out a few other games, tho. Will defs get back to it later.

If Bethesda thought I should be able to upgrade my bow until it's wicked overpowered, and it helps me beat their crappy game faster, it's no skin off my neck.

Man, I miss the mad props that came when I told my friends I was level 59 in oblivion. Skyrim; it means nothing 'cus they are all using exploits to get that far too.

51 in the first week, before much of the exploits were known.
