Im hoping someone here can help me out with this one. I've tried searching for an answer but to no prevail.

Basically, the move tool should only move something when the layer is selected, right? Well when I try, I select the layer I want to move then click and drag but what ends up happening is whatever is behind the mouse at the time gets moved. Tha ****? Its annoying because when something is in a group and I click directly onto the layer I want to move the whole group moves to. Its pissing me off. Any idea for a fix cos I know that the tool should not be acting like that?

Watch in HD so you can actually see whats happening:

Why do you have a clipping mask?

Hmm I think you may have your layer mask on the group linked to every object in the group or something, try move the text out of the group, as you notice it moves the entire grouping, including the text, so you can try get the text out of the group to move it.

That fixed the text problem but it still drags whatever is behind the cursor when I click instead of moving the selected layer. Any ideas on that?

Unlink the layers. Thats all I can think.

See the link symbol next to the group, try removing that.

HOLY **** I found the fix. It was so simple yet overlooked. When the move tool is selected there is an option that says 'auto-select'. I must've at one point clicked it. Now that I deselected it, it works like it should. Thanks for the help guys.

Looks nice... the font is weird, though, is it the one you will be using in the final version?
