Hello to all forgilators,this is my most recent map called Fountain.I got inspiration from the maps Warlock and Foundation from halo 2.Fountain is mid size Octagonal map with two tiers and is also enclosed.(hope your not claustrophobic lol)Also i havnt had a chance to actually play this map in customs yet and if yall do give me sum feedback what i needs to be changed thanks and enjoy!! Weapon list DMR x2 Needle Rifle x2 Magnum x2 Plasma Pistol x2 Shotgun x2 Sniper Rifle x1 Rocket Launcher x1 Energy Sword x1 Needlers x2 Frag Grenades x4 Plasma Grenades x4 Health Packs x2 Red Base Below with DMR Spawn Under the water below middle of the map top tier If you throw a grenade just right the rocket launcher will fall down that hole for added strategy well thats all the pics i have so far,let me no what ya think peace and happy forgeing!! Claustrophobic? I didn't see much cover. You might want to add more, and maybe make an alternate entrance to the bases, because you only showed one way in.
I like the pool you made there, but placing a weapon there is a bad idea because people can't see it. Generally weapons should be as visible as possible so you should be building weapon stands rather than hiding them underwater. The idea with the rocket launcher is nice, but when it's knocked down people will most likely think it just hasn't respawned yet and if the sword has also spawned people might have trouble picking up the one they want. Having the hole there is a great idea for people to drop down between rooms, but I just think the sword should go in the top room and the rocket on some sort of pedestal in the bottom room so anyone who picks up the sword has the added option of dropping down.
The map itself looks nice and well thought of. But a few tweaks or adjustments that pryo and S0uthernnumber1 said would make this map play play out really well. Overall it looks like a fun slayer game with a few strategic points.
You haven't tested it yet? I could get a game on it with you... I like the grenadeknockingdowntherocketlauncher idea, it adds a little strategy. Put up an overview!
I really like the skylight idea and the water and grass in the map. For the skylight however, you should take away the sheild door because it would look better if it was just open. Also try to avoid ramp 2x2 steeps because they are just too steep. Otherwise great map!
LOL, next you'll be saying 1x2 shallows are to short. I again think this map has a cool design. I'm going to try and get some play testing in later on this week I'll see how it plays and tell you what I think.
Wait wtf, is that rocket on the ceiling? You troll, anyway the tin cup in the middle of your water dish looks out of place, looks like its pretty clean, I guess I'll give it a download.
Uhh, no they aren't. 2x2 steeps are too steep because it breaks LoSs that shouldn't be broken. If you can't see somebody that's two feet in front of you on the top of the ramp, that's bad. Example: This shows why Red can't see Blue, and vise-versa.
I like the map but there are some problems I see and those are: 1.Try not to have blocks overlap each other some block seem to flash when they over lap each other and its just ugly 2.Not a big fan of the hole with the water underneath it for the rocket launcher becuase the rockets will fall in then people will have troubles spot the rockets in the water
Well thanks for checking out my map and given sum feedback.Ill start off by saying i know hiding the sword underwater might be awkward so ill probably add a pedestal or block in the middle so you can see it.As for the grass being in the middle i know it looks out of place but if you play the map and try to crouch down in the water to hide you will die,so without that grass being there you would just keep dieing if your in the middle.The rocket launcher is hard to grenade down the hole unless you use plasma grenades so that would rarely happen.and yes i know this map needs more cover but i didn't want to overload the top tier with it because i didn't want people spawn killing so its more open on top than the bottom.Plus most of the spawn points are at the bottom there's only 4 respawns at the top.The skylight is staying the same with the shields because i dont wont jet packers flying out of the map.As of right know im trying to make the bases a bit bigger with 2 entrances but im having trouble running out of blocks to do it with so far iv only got the blue and red bases more walkway.and yes i know overlaping is bad but if you slightly move the piece just a lil bit thatll fix the problem,i cant stand when it glitches myself Asylum's bowl in the middle still glitches in matchmaking and that annoys me sumtimes lol Again thanks to all that commented and gave me feedback this isnt my first map that i have made so ill be putting up new threads sooner or later.Well peace out peeps,Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all! Okay well I stand corrected. Anyway I went on this map in forge and I was just looking around and then I went over to the sword spawn...what I don't like about that is that you go underwater and I dislike that and then heres the best part. I crouched and died due to the natural spawn kill...so you might want to raise the dish a little so that won't happen.
Place a grid just high enough to keep people's heads above the waves. The grid will be invisible under the water.
