    Finally, I've created a slayer map that not only looks great but works great. My past maps have been themed and strayed too far from the ordinary layout to work good. Now I present Dissonance. I am not one to go on and on about the map's background and story. I think it's pretty dumb when people make their maps out to be some kind of super map that no one else will ever beat. I think I have achieved what I wanted with this one. My only concerns are the weapons. Maybe someone could help me with a better weapon layout. So here's the weapon list along with some screens. Questions are appreciated. Enjoy!

    Glad to see its up. When I saw this map in forge I didn't really pay much attention to the detail, I think the stairs are the coolest idea I've seen on any map. I hope to get a game on this soon with you.

    Its cool you had curvature in you flooring but I think all the flooring is a bit different. It would look better (though looks do not matter much) if you made the whole floor system the same.

    Some tips for weapons

    1. I like to have 4 DMR's and 4 Needle Rifles on my maps and I think it works pretty good.

    2. Having a snipe at each base would be cool, I think you should change the position at the bottom to a top level.

    3. I would take away gravity hammer, I HATE CAMPING!!!

    Weapon sets are a personal choice. I think that on this map, the DMRs and NRs will give whichever team has most of them a slight advantage due to the openness, so I like the 3 DMRs. I wouldn't put a Sniper at the top because then you aren't encouraged to move from the high ground. Also, the Gravity Hammer won't be too great, considering the openness of the map again. This is probably the best map I've seen so far from you, PAINTS, It looks great for competitive, but doesn't get MLG-esque. Movement is almost unrestricted, just the right amount of cover for the precision weapons to do their job, just a solid piece of work. I DLed.

    HOW AM I THE FIRST ONE TO DOWNLOAD?!! ZERO APPRECIATION, YOU GUYS.

    There's a lot of exposure top mid, you should place rockets there. I know its overdone in every map but it's for a reason! Eveyone will rush rockets and it should be the most vulnerable spot on the map.

    Surprisingly, top mid doesn't see much action. I see what you're saying about the initial rush for rockets, but if you look closely, top mid is not easy to get to off the start. I might try rockets inside the middle building. But on 180 spawn and only one spare clip. Thanks for your opinions

    I really like this map and i agree with you on those that people make their maps sound godly. I do like a good story with things like infection maps though. This map has my download the only thing im worried about is the two snipers. That never works out for my custom games.

    I would move the sniper to higher grounds because for one it is easier to snipe down then it is to snipe up and I might cause some problems with gameplay but besides that this map looks amazing

    For one thing, the snipers on the longest possible respawn time since there are two. Also, if you look at the sniper placement on matchmaking maps, it is usually placed in a spot that isn't so easy to find and also on a lower level. It encourages the player who picks up the sniper to go to higher grounds and move around, thus making the sniper rifle a more balanced weapon.

    This map looks great. The aesthetics are clean and the layout is kept simple. Not sure about the stairs though. Not a fan of those.

    Dude, Leave the complimenting to others.

    You have some objects that induce screenlag. Might want to change those. The bridge, diagonals are usually pretty bad. They've both a lot of glass and a few lights.

    I agree. Im not saying anything but it might be the stairs. I tried making stairs and the lag induced when i got near them was enormous!

    Did you download the map and actually see if my stairs lag? Didn't think so.. Don't assume something is going to lag just cause of your own experiences with forge. Next time make sure something is in fact faulty before calling it out. I went into custom games and there is no lag anywhere near the stairs. Thanks for pointing out a possible problem but in fact, it is not a problem.

    Sweet layout. I like the center piece, and the window coliseums as trim. Good use of color too.

    Great looking map! It's always refreshing to stumble across a map that doesn't conform to the mainstream. I really like what you did with the yellow base (where the rocket spawns), it's simple yet efficient. I agree with S0uthernNumber1 that 3 DMRs creates great gameplay which gives a team slight advantage without becoming overpowered. And in my personal oppinion I would trade the hammer for a shotgun. The hammer tends to cause camping while the shotgun is slightly more versatile and doesn't force a player to "crouch in the corner until someone walks by!" haha

    Otherwise great map! I'll try to let you know more after I've had a chance to play a few games on it.

    Hulter, if you downloaded it, I don't know how you got lag. I played this on 4v4, split screen, with NO lag whatsoever.

    How am I supposed to play it when I'm 700 kilometres away from my xbox?
    Not assuming anything. Only said you might get screenlag.

    Try testing it while shooting an AR with bottomless mag, and maybe while using invis.

    You clearly said I have objects that induce screen lag, If you read back.

    Also, Why would they even have bridge diagonals if they always lagged?

    Now I'm sorry to bring this up again but it's actually against forum rules to explicitly Review a map without downloading it. Here's the link to forum rules, it's the fourth rule.

    And why would I even try shooting AR near the stairs with invis if neither my map nor supported gametype uses invis or bottomless clip.

    Again, sorry for arguing, but this isn't the right map to pick on. Thanks for your criticism anyway.

    Saying you use objects that induce screenlag isn't neccesarily saying you have screenlag.

    Bridge diagonals don't always lag. They are just heavier to render than more framerate friendly objects, and if you have too many of them on screen at once the framerate drops. I don't know why bungie made them like that. I guess they didn't realize it would have that impact.

    AR and invis is just a common method for finding screenlag. It simulates the stress you can get in customs. If you do get any, you are likely to get it occasionally in customs as well.

    I do know the rules pretty well. Cut it off. I'm not reviewing your map. Just telling you you may have framarate issues.
