I'll have to start a pure Mage next, considering BethSoft didn't fix that College quest glitch which completely ****s up the College questline.

It'll be a long time until I do that do. I want to get literally everything else done with my current character first, or at least until I get bored with an unspecialized pure tank.

What is this glitch exactly, and how do I avoid it?
I'm at the part where I have the find the staff of magnus or something to that effect. Don't tell me if it's beyond that point and involves spoilers

I've started a conjurer, best idea ever.

Atronach in my left hand, conjured sword in my right, light armour and one handed are secondary skills.

Still running my first character. Level 63 at the moment, and at least 105 hours in. I'm a somewhat sneaky character I suppose, as I use dual Daedric Daggers (Legendary), one normal and one with a Fiery Soul Trap enchant on it. Mainly use the normal one, but if I need to recharge some of my enchanted items I can pretty much sneak-one-hit anything with the enchanted dagger. Apart from that, using all Dragonscale (Legendary) armour, except for the head, which I use Krosis (Legendary). Haven't found better light armour yet so I'm gonna stick with that, I guess, as the armour rating is something over 720.

But I don't think I'll start a new character any time soon, as, like Chrono, I'm far too thorough when it comes to exploring and dungeon crawling, so starting something new so soon would be way too much of a grind for me. When I eventually decide to get this for PC is when I will start anew.

Also, anyone been tempted to use the Oghma Infinium glitch? I've thought about it, but decided that it would ruin the fun for me, so I'm going to stick to leveling up normally.

I was going to do that glitch, to buff my level through Magic; but in the end I decided against it.

I'm not sure what that glitch is, but it would explain why two of my friends hit 81 recently. No thanks.

Fighting with a shield and an axe is something else in this game, though, unfortunately, only on the higher difficulties. The different techniques you can do with only the shield, those with only the sword, all rely on the length you hold down the trigger and the direction you have the thumbsticks pointing. Then, when combined, you have even more options for fighting, which makes that style of combat absolutely amazing and all about timing and stamina management. For instance, when fighting a mage hold your shield in front of you until they run out of magika, then do the sprint-crit power attack followed by a shield bash to knock them off balance long enough to finish the kill. Archers can be fought with a similar strategy, except its all about timing and not technique. Other warriors, on the other hand, require incredible reflexes and a use of all the different techniques on everything. Bash their power attack back, Fus Ro Dah the poor ****er, get a hit or two before they recover, dodge the return of theirs, then do a finisher where you cut off their head.

Breaking my Boethia quest was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

To level up skills that you find incredibly difficult to up? I dunno... why would you want to use the glitch on oblivion to get permanent enchantments?

i did the oghma glitch to get from 44 to 50. there were some perks i wanted and im impatient. i think ill just level up legit now, but who knows, i might pull it out again later. im not someone who thinks things like that ruin the game. i enjoy being at a high level, and i do not really care how i get there. i mainly stopped cause it was ruining all my bookshelves.

Got my twin daedric swords to 199 & 194 with a held value of 246 & 256 banish, soultrap, burn 28 & absorb health.... And that was with 76% smith boost, deadric armour has smithing + 28, gauntlets 28%, ring and amulet 26%. When I created new smithing potion at 115% it didn't raise stat so I'm guessing its capped. I had that book people cheated with. I read it once for 5 skills and lost it somewhere.... Not sure if it has been taken by a cult I need to make sacrifice. Glad I didn't use it to cheat. had strange battle with dragon last night, he started lagging out and then the game was running 1/8 speed and I saved, shut down, reloaded still in lag and unable to travel. Beware the laggy dragon

Yeah, I'm not tempted to do that glitch at all. It sounds like it's game ruining.

Also, to anyone finding combat boring, turn the game up to Master and start a new character. God dayum.

Also, chrono, if you're doing the quest for the staff now, then you're pretty much on top of the glitch now. All I'll say is this: When you're in a Dwemer ruin, and you're using Magic to focus a crystal, DON'T LEAVE THE ROOM. Just don't.

So much for the update fixing the glitch where killed dragons don't give you their soul... That's two so far.

Shadowmere definitely isn't invulnerable. He went down like a ***** after I caught some mad air off a mountaintop...

    Lol, that's awesome, Dread.

Anyway, with regards to the glitch, some people may just want to tank up without the hassle of having to grind, whereas others like to grind because it adds a sense of accomplishment to the results? I'm more in the latter party myself. Level grinding can be a *****, but at least you know you've done the hard yards to get there. I'm not adverse to cheating, but I'd rather finish a game properly, then when I find everything out about it, go back and whoop-ass with holy-**** mode activated.

And Chrono, if item trading were included in this game I'd give you a Staff of Magnus. For some reason I got two when I did the quest for it. Also, found a small shrine near Winterhold that is just to the northeast of Mount Anthor, where a bunch of skeletons come to life and attack you. After I'd defeated the "boss" skeleton, he had The Doors of Oblivion book on his remains. I exited his body, and for some reason, clicked back on him and he then had two books on him. I thought this was strange, so I did it again and sure enough, he had three books on him. I wanted to see how far I could go with this, but got bored after about 25 books. I suppose this would be a good way to build up your money if you wanted to take the time to collect thousands of books, but I have better things to do ;).

I have some photos to show where it is as well as the stupidity of it. These were taken on my phone, so quality isn't fantastic. I'll spoiler these so as to a) not spam up the page with pictures, and b) not ruin it for anyone who might want to find it for themselves.

Just to clarify, you can see the 'current location' arrow marker just to the northeast of Mount Anthor in the first image, that's where it is.

I also wanted to share this. Someone should have checked the dialogue more thoroughly before submitting the script. *facepalm*

For those of you who don't see a problem; read this. This isn't the first spelling error I've seen in dialogue either, I've seen "wrsoe" when it should have been "worse", but that can be excused as it's such a huge game. The other one is just bad grammar. :p
