Intrepid is a symmetrical, 1v1 classic slayer map. It's my attemt at making a map that's small and brings out a certain color. Though this version isn't amazing it drags the first version through the dirt.

    Changes made:
    - replaced original walls with more colorful ones.
    - replaced center ramps with a gravity lift
    - removed dmrs and placed needle rifles closer to the initial spawns.
    - replace fusion coils with plasma batteries.
    - placed a concussion rifle at the top of the map
    - moved grenades to the midsection of the side ramps.
    - cut the number of health packs to 1 and put it in the center of the map.
    - made the larger
    - changed the lights to blue and moved them.
    - added a **** ton more cover.

    - added railings around the pillars
    - replaced the shotgun with evade.
    - added better aesthetics.
    - made everything PURPLE.

    Gametype:
The gametype isn't really necessary. Your primary weapon is a plasma repeater, your secondary is a plasma pistol, you have 1 plasma grenade and your forced color is purple. It does come in handy though because I think covy weapons destroy plasma batteries quicker than human weapons.

    Weapons on map:
    2 Needle Rifles
    1 Concusion Rifle
    2 Plasma Grenades
    1 Evade Armor Effect

Third and first verion overview below in spoiler.

    Thanks to Knight Of 0rder:

I was going to scrap this map, but thanks to his awesome feedback and advice I decided to stick with it.

    Oh and Dizzyman572:

He gave me great suggestions for the map and though I only used 1 or 2 of them, I appreciate his help.

I dont understand the last two pics. It looks like it is 2 different maps.

The 2nd to last pic looks great for 2v2 but the last looks perfect for 1v1.
I'll have to check this out later.

Also it looks like you are going for a Covenent feel. I would suggest merging some Covenent Barriers into the floor to get that great purple Covenent feel.

Hate to post without commenting on the layout, but the majority of the walls are made of 2x2 steeps and have a trim made of railings.

    2x2 Steep Ramp = 2 lights

    Medium Railing = 2 lights

Lots of lights = Lots of lag

Replace the 2x2 steep ramps with Bridge Incline, Larges at a 63 degree angle, and replace the railing with anything that doesn't have lights.

Looks great, I love the covvie feel, but is that a massive line of sight spanning the whole map along the back? If so, you may want to get some covenant crates in there, cause that could spoil a really good looking map.
xzamplez, are you talking about large bridge ramps? If so, DON'T USE THEM. They are among the WORST objects for frame lag in the game. Steer clear AT ALL COSTS.

thanks! The last two pictures show the final version of the map and the first version of the map. At first, I was merging the barriers into the ground, but that was too much trouble so I stopped :p

thanks for the tip. I haven't experienced framerate yet in 1v1 and I ran around spamming with an AR and didn't get any lag either, though the area where the concussion rifle is does lag a little.

63 degrees? I have no idea how I could get that so accurate.

Thanks. the longest LoS on the map is probably through the center, but other than that they aren't that long. I don't even know what a large bridge ramp is haha.

Objects with Transparent glass and lights are the worst for framerate, bridge large inclines have neither.

    Edited by merge:

Set the object on rotation snap off, then go to pitch in the edit coordinate section. You can rotate it to any degree.

Yea transparent glass causes tons of lag. This map looks great though, It really has a covy feel. Great use of elevation and I really like the shelves with the covy crates. Great job.

Thanks, that's what I was going for in a way and the shelves were kind of a last many decoration, haha.

Ahh, I forgot that this is only a 2v2, I played this 6 people FFA haha. I do like this map, the covi crates feels like it was meant, at first I thought the effects where cool but kind of hurted my eyes after a while. The evade was a good choice though, it was fun to use while you had it.

Bumptastic! thanks, I bet that was a hectic game of framerate, haha. I've played this with 8 people and it was literally nothing but spawnkilling. Glad you got some sort of enjoyment out of it!

EDIT: I just noticed that one strut in the first picture is off-colored, wow....
