I mean I didn't play Oblivion, but I did play the **** out of Morrowind. In Morrowind I was a Battle-Mage, I thought I'd be an archer this time. I honestly thought it would be a lot harder, but archery is sooo godly.

And Aschur, you strip enchantments off of enchanted weapons and armour. The only downfall is you lose the item, but you'll forever know the enchantment you stripped.

Go to ArchMage Quarters in the college of Winterhold, he's got a **** load of soul gems. Also he doesn't do anything when you steal it. There is also someone at the college that can Train you 5 levels higher everyone once in awhile, for gold. 65 Enchantment, 75 Smithing, and 85 Speechcraft are a few of my levels right now.

That's a little annoying if you don't have the roll perk. You walk so slow in creeping mode.

Anyone know where i can find some cool hooded robes? Most of the kinds, (blue, black, green, necromancer, mage, monk etc) come in a hooded and non-hooded variety.

Dragon Priest Masks come with an attached hood, and all of them are good for mages. Dunno about robes with hoods though.

Correct. But only certain enchantments can go on certain items. Basically you rip an enchantment off a piece of apparel, you can only put it on apparel. You rip it off a weapon, you can basically only put it on another weapon.

actually found out that both of the sets of gear, the enchantments cant be taken off. Same with any other item I have that has a special name. ie: Nightingale blade.

Hmm, that's weird. I've been able to disenchant everything I looted and tried. I'mma be doing a lot of enchanting for the next couple days. I'll post what I learn about it.

You can't disenchant something if you already know the enchantment or if the item you're destroying is a quest item. Beyond that, I can't say.

Im currently using the arch-mage robes you get after the College of Winterhold quests. The greybeard dudes had pretty awesome robes, but they are a pain in the ass to kill. They keep freezing me :(

Props to you if you kill them.

Wait, its actually possible to kill them?

    *gears up to kill them*

EDIT: Ok, Don't waste your time, you actually cant kill them. All they do is slouch down in pain then get back up, even after they have no health left.

Enchanting advice: save before you disenchant. I'm not sure why, but some items when disenchanted will increase me level significantly, while some only do a sliver. It seems completely random, so there's no point in disenchanting a weapon worth 1500 gold when it barely levels you up. Also, you can level up by recharging weapons with soul gems, but I'm pretty sure that's slower.

I think it would be more even if the magicka regen enchants worked inside combat. No matter what your enchants are, your regeneration while in combat is always the same, making those enchants somewhat useless. Also, it's just strange that thieves can get 3x bow damage and 15x dagger damage and warriors can do hundreds of points of damage with no backlash on stamina while mages seem limited in their damage, armor, and energy. The most effective mages make good use of all schools of magic, but as it stands it takes significantly more time to kill something as a mage than it does other classes, at least in later levels.

Ah, but the 3x damage on bow is only if you are stealthed, if they discover you or you arent fully hidden, you don't get the bonus. Or at least I don't.

    Think of it this way;

    Warriors depend on stamina.
    Rogues depend on stealth.
    Mages depend on magicka.

Any one of the three will be useless without that thing it depends on for damage output. Warriors depend on stamina for power blows.

    Bad analogy.

And you get 3x until you are discovered. Even when they are suspicious you can sneak attack.

I fail to see how that is a bad analogy in any way. Rogues work independent of whether they have magicka or stamina left. As long as they are stealthed they can kill people.

An example is the fight I just had with a dragon priest, he summoned an atronach that drained my magicka, while he attacked and drained my magicka, I stealthed, crouched around and killed him with a bow after using throw voice. No need for either magicka or stamina.

In fact, only thing I use stamina for is running, and I only heal out of battle with magicka. (If I need healing)
