BTB map ideas?

    Anyone got any good suggestions for a BTB map or Invasion? I would like to try to work on some so if you got ideas and to share them, be my guest. Tips are appreciated as well thanks guys / (and gals if your out there.)

    *******INVASION*******
    Theme: Spartans destroy Elite weapons
    Phase 1: Spartans capture 1 of 3 territories, each with a small/medium sized Elite gun by it
    Phase 2: Spartans can bomb either a wall or a medium/large gun.
    Phase 3: Spartans take core from inside frickin huge gun and return it.

    It's extremely vague but hey, you wanted an idea

    Definietly Vague but when I meant ideas, I meant specifically forge backstories and such. Ex. A city map or a mining facility. Anyway I map try to do it, not likely though.

    You could play some of the old video games you've got lying around in search of some ideas. You could also play Halo: CE-pc and check out some of the BTB maps Bungie made just for the game. Lastly, you could browse Google images for awhile and check out some of the concept art for video games.

    I tried working on a Forerunner theme and decided to venture into Invasion. You can read my case study on the effort. From that the one thing I would suggest you consider and see if you can make it work effectively is the very long distance on the falcons. My intent was to give the spartans a pause at the start of the game to talk to each other, contemplate the coming battle, observe the target area upon approach - like in real battle.

    The other thing I would strongly suggest if you want to do invasion is split up the roles of fire teams one, two, and three. Make FT3 the stand off sniper and long range power weapon specialists for the attacking team. And spawn the sniper or other power weapons after 2 minutes in any given round to shift the power into the favor of the attacking team if the round takes 2 minutes or more (a possible stale mate condition that needs to be broken).

    These are my thoughts and I lost the map behind the case study one day. I have not gone back to work on it, but it had some real problems on the structure design and on the single very large open field territory for phase one concept. (I have been busy on a new map for the last three months or so - the longest I have worked on any one map, trying to learn from others what it is I am not thinking of as I design a map. One day soon I hope to share it with you all.)
