Are they those irritating 5-6 lap endurance races though or is it a reasonable (and fun) 1 or 2 laps?

I've decided to make a Forza 4 Film for my final project in Digital Tech; I should have a rough thing done tonight if you guys wouldn't mind C&Cing it for me.

I liked your pick of courses. Not so much the car. Great driving and camera angles though. I think you cut the end too quick as well. I would've waited until the car crossed the line before fading to black rather than having it fade as it crossed.

It's really broad, as long as it has our own footage and our own editing, it can be anything.

Ok, well, I would say that its rather long and repetitive, with nothing really compelling me to keep watching. I'd work on developing a better idea on how you want to present the whole concept.
I dunno if what I said make any sense or not, but that's what I feel it lacks (substance).

    *edit

I guess what I'm trying to say is, that unless I wanted to see a video of an audi doing a lap, this video doesn't offer much.

I can see your point, but I really need ideas :/ I want to make it on Forza, but I could really do it on anything.

If you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to take them.

i would suggest taking pointers from that dubstep audi drifting video you had linked earlier.

its basically the same thing as yours, but it was much more interesting to watch.

do what that person did, try to keep it interesting and engaging.

Personally, I find multi-car races much, much more interesting than drift videos. If you wanted to do that and make it interesting, I would find one f those 'weave-through' traffic races on like an A or S class, pick a nice, shiny car with a sweet paint job and race that same course against the same cars multiple times. Pick and choose the best footage from the collection of races and weave it together to make a nice video of tight racing, good passes, great cornering, fancy cars and a little destruction here and there. That will keep the audience happy. It may not be what you enjoy filming, but it's what the audience will enjoy watching. IMO.

I'd rather do something I enjoy doing, than something I won't put all my effort into.

TBH, your drifting was a little boring, you need to keep the drift going throughout the entire first curve for any sort of awesomeness, the car doesnt seem set up for massive long drifts like some cars are. I agree with both Titty and Echo, needs more interesting

I could get you some gameplay f u wanted

I would advise picking something pretty, like maybe Fujikawa or Maple Valley. Remember, this is for the audience.

Well what's the point of sharing something you enjoy in a medium like film when you're only audience is you? That just makes the video only interesting to a very few. Tantricecho was kinda right but it doesn't necessarily mean you have to change it all up.

Try to think about it like this:
How can I showcase all my favorite things about what I enjoy (drifting) to people who may not be into it?

I want you to make me like it as much as you do. I don't know about the limitations of the forza camera but generally when I see videos with cars or races or whatever they feature lots of experimentation with camera angles (good ones at least). If I was going to make this I'd incorporate the driver, probably try odd camera shots (like the camera "mounted" right behind the passenger front wheel or a low shot where the car passes over the camera) and generally make it more cinematic for appeal (changing the music to something that goes with the track/car movements, and try to convey a tiny tiny story). Of course this all depends on the forza engine lol

    Hope this helps :)

Lol, the Forza replay camera is very limited, the footage he's got so far is just the standard replay camera, and that cant be changed at all.

But this is still some good advice, try to make it seem more dramatic with "epic" music and some amazing cuts and dramatic transitions.

I'd like to suggest you record some of the footage at the race start menu, when the camera is panning around the car and track, and then cut to the actual gameplay footage. Maybe only include a few brief snapshots of the car to keep the viewer in suspense to what the car actually is.

    Edited by merge:

Got some gameplay of me and my 370 on my SF if you wanna take a look. There's almost 20 mins of footage in it, and I did some funky stuff so you can pull out the best bits and montage them together if you wish. Its on the beautiful Alps track, and some of the replay camera angles are very good, especially the final one that swings out over the bridge.

I also included some burnouts and a few donuts if you wanted them, as well as a few nice backdrops for stills of the car. You'll have to excuse the plainness of the car, I really like plain white cars, its just one of those random things.

The tag on the vid is "ForgeHub"
