New Xbox in 2012

Thats so BS. You actually believe what you hear on the internet? They wouldnt make all these updates for 360 if they were making a new console.

 

Maybe they're seeing how the updates are received by the community before adding them to their next console.

I'll wait for confirmation by Microsoft or other websites before believing this completely. All I have to say now is that design is ugly as hell.

 

You know, I'd usually agree, but the fact you didn't actually read the article makes a difference. They provide a ****ing source there, so actually go read before making a comment based on nothing but thin air.

As for the update thing, if the console isn't going to release for another year, of course they're going to continue updating the current one. That's like saying "Hey, there'll be another Call Of Duty sometime next year, so what the hell is the point of making DLC for this one?"

 

They announced they were working on their new console at E3 this year. However, I'm calling the BS police on that article. There's no way in hell they will have it done by 2012. Especially with titles coming out next year like Armored Core 5, Mass Effect 3, Prototype and Borderlands 2, and also the new Bioshock. Expect 2014 or '15.

Looks more like a Chinese knock-off. I'm sure this is far from accurate, though it would be interesting to see Halo 4 as a possible launch title.

 

Noone is claiming that that image is a real concept for the next-box. Its clearly made by someone whose got their hands on some 3D modelling software. Its not the point of discussion.

Kinect got a bit more money out of the Xbox and they sold a lot of units but I don't think its really grasped peoples' attention as much as they'd like, casual market or not. We're already on to the 2nd round of sports and animal games with very few games attempting to break the mould.

So yeah, a new Xbox wouldn't really surprise me, but I'm not going to take this show's word for it.

Plus, Halo 4 as launch title? That'd be a no brainer if they were releasing a new console.

Wow, another "report" about a new xbox? Honestly, I'm certain that everyone that's made these has been talking out of their ass. That article says it's codename is "Ten" yet this article says that the codename is "Loop".

That "rumor" doesn't sound like a new xbox. I mean I don't deny that within Microsoft concepts and designs for the next console have been made. There is certainly better technology out currently for improved graphics, better wireless technologies, and cloud storage that can all be integrated. At this point it is all about marketing and I don't see 2012 as the period for the next generation of consoles. 2014 seems more like it.

 

Yea that design looks really fake. There's no way Mircosoft would approve of a bulky design like this.

 

The "design" was not the point of the article, that was just an artists rendering to garner attention for the article. Lots of gaming journalist sites do that. Xbox Official Magazine had an article earlier this year showing artists renderings of what the next xbox might look like.
