10/28/2011 Halloween has come to ForgeHub! That means Infection maps. So for today I will be reviewing Infection maps. Top 5 Infection maps this week. #5 Twilight Beacon: Infection by: A3ON This is a unique and very well put together. The only reason it got #5 is because A3ON used too many pre-made buildings that lessened the true texture of the map and the tombstones didn't have that unique feel that every cemetary should have. Other than that it is a great map to play on except for the mystery box room, because of camping. #4 Project Misriah by: Ghostlink1 Reach zombies is a perfect blend of black ops zombies and halo reach. The idea of being able to fight off endless waves of zombies within reach is an idea that was greatly put together by Ghostlink1. The map comes with a mystery box and even perks. This is definitely a fun map to play on and worth your time to check out. #3 Caverns of Death - Count the Shadows by: AndyDaRoo In this cave system you fight for your life in the dark while the zombies are invisible. If you haven't seen his pics you need to check them out because the rocks were placed naturally and there is really no way to describe it. #2 Reapers Residence by: Insamniac This is next to the most asthetically pleasing infection map I've ever seen. If you have not played a game on this map yet you need to do so. I really like the open play area of this map. There are 3 main places to defend yourself while you are playing: the residence, the gazebo, and the doghouse. #1 Lost Souls Cemetary by: Insamniac This IS the most asthetically pleasing infection map I've ever seen. The church theme was put together in a great way that looks cool and plays great. This is number one because the gameplay is so great and because the cemetary is better than other maps I've seen. He should have posted this in the Hub of the Dead II competition. This is a must for all you hardcore infection gamers. And for this I'm giving Insamniac the Zombie Slayer Award for his Lost Souls Cemetary map. Congrats! _________________________________________________________________________________ ________________Note: I don't judge DLC maps. _________________________________________________________________
Sorry about disregarding your notice about posting, but if no one posts, then your thread will be buried quickly. Anyways, I like the idea of having quick little reviews to showcase maps, so good job. A few tips though: Possibly expand a little more on the review, but still keep it short. Also, stay sways from white text as for people with light skins cannot read the text.
Thanks for the advice and I'm removing the no post notice but this is still my weekly posting advent. I'm changing the white text. And sorry they weren't descriptive enough. I had to go and I couldn't get as much detail as needed.
I agree, I like the idea of a community member reviewing a maps from their own perspective- just make sure you play the maps- I dont think people would appreciate it if you reviewed something you never played on. Im not saying you did that, just that some people judge before they play. Honestly I think its good to have another point of view reviewing maps, keep it up, but as cluckin said, make the reviews more detailed if you can- not that they have to be pages long, just add a bit. If you dont have as much time as you would have liked just write it on a word document and copy/past when you are done.
Ya I wans't thinking about copy/pasting. But anyways I edited some and today or tomorrow I will edit the first post. BTW, if anyone didn't know I'll be editing the first post for all of the reviews. I will have post shortcut eventually when I have reviewed many maps.
Thanks very much for having a look at my map! I think this is a pretty cool system you could make, but perhaps offer a bit more detail
Would have appreciated thoughts about some of the other maps (even my own) in the contest. True, lots to review, but it would be interesting getting someone else's take, one deeper than the initial feedback from the thread. Good posts!
