I've never read the comics, but I just don't see how the guy with the bow and the chick match up with the other guys....
Guy with the bow is Hawkeye. Basically he's like Batman but with great aim and a **** ton of arrows. Girl is Agent Romanov and is a member of SHIELD.
right, but how does having a bow and being a good martial artist match up with 2 guys that are invincible, a guy that can fly and control lightning, and a man that can fly and shoot rockets and ****?
DAMN I love Robert Downey Jr. I hope he figuratively leads this movie. It has potential if they don't try to make a movie with a dozen main characters with important stories. And Hawkeye is ballin'.
Awh **** yeah, Nine Inch Nails in the trailer. I thought it fit pretty well too. Onto the actual movie, I'm looking forward to it but not expecting too much out of a movie that is pretty much guaranteed to be a blockbuster hit. (+5 points to Hipsterdom) Maybe it'll surprise me though.
This looks freakin sweet! I'm a big fan of Marvel movies, though I havn't seen Thor or CA. Maybe that's why I'm clueless about Hawkeye and the chicks appearance?
They seem to draw from Ultimate quite a bit, but it's essentially its own universe. Also, Hawkeye appeared briefly in Thor, which you'll want to see as Loki is also the villain in the Avengers. Captain America is just a great movie by itself, though it's in a different vein than Thor.
There was an avengers comic and the marvel superheroes would cross over all the time. King Pin was a classic Dare Devil and Spider man villain. Dr. Doom was a classic villain for a bunch of heroes. And SHIELD was also a separate comic strip that made appearances in a bunch of the other comics so the movies have lots of comic background. Just are updated for a more modern society than the 50's-70's era comics.
Yeah, I'm just wondering because in Iron Man 2 they say he achieved world peace. But it makes sense that it would be a different universe.
I don't know how I missed that? Maybe I haven't seen all of IM2 and just thought I have. Anyways, did y'all notice that the actor who played Hulk in the 2008 film has been replaced by Mark Ruffalo? I usually hate it when movies do this but I think Mark's a great actor so it doesn't bother me much.
Scarlett Johanson's character or 'the chick' as she's been referenced here I believe is named 'black widow' her name in Iron Man 2 is Agent Romanov, but her 'super hero' name I believe is Black Widow. At least it was in the comic books. And yeah, Hawkeye never really had that big of a part in the comic books, but hopefully they will make him have something cool in the movies. Like maybe Tony Stark gives him some sick weaponry. I am wondering if this movie will follow canon and have Loki convince the Hulk to become an antagonist. A Hulk vs. Iron Man/ CA showdown would be sweet in film.
I haven't read the comics so I may not know what talking about, but this doesn't sound logical. I don't think they would turn on each other..
In the comics, The Hulk turns into a villain for awhile because Loki convinces him to. (I think he takes out the Golden Gate Bridge, I don't remember exactly, it's been over a decade and a half since I read them and I was 6 years old when I did.)
