Just experimenting with some simple effects on a photo I took of my friend while skating.

It was taken with my iPhone, so it's made as an iPhone wallpaper.
I didn't do much to them, just looking for advice on what looks better, I was trying to go for the look of older, vintage/70's skate photos/videos. I'm not great at editing, so don't impale me with comments of failure.

So which looks the best for what I'm going for?

The borders are too pixelated, the first image is the best, the second two are overexposed. Try and find a better border if possible for the first one. Good effort though.

Yeah I wasn't sure how the second two were going to compare to the first, I wanted to give it a vintage feel but I'm not sure it worked too well on the second and third.

They look too... crisp to be vintage. Usually vintage photos are a little more out of focus and grainy. I'd say add a very slight blur effect and a little bit of graininess, but don't go nuts.

Kinda like this. Apologies for the crudeness of the photo, but it's the only decent one I could find to illustrate my point better. ;)

EDIT: Ok, found a better one. Not sure how in-depth you're looking to go with this, but note the creases on the image too, that would make it look a little more authentic.

I randomly came across a tutorial (on stumbleupon).

    Assuming you have photoshop...
