So I have been working on this project for nearly three weeks trying to get it all down. Originally, I was working on a map that would bring in aspects of a more open enviroment but I changed towards a more medium ranged style. So far, this version is the Beta version meaning in testing and almost ready for launch. Testers Wanted!Testers would gladly be taken and will be needed for this map. I am always short and there's a reward! You get your names posted up on my thread. Pretty cool, huh? ...I know it sucks. The changes since my last map More condensed and seperated zones. Outside features, yay! Lighter necessity of aesthetics. More natural infused with map's surroundings. Use of vehicles outside of map. Stuff blows up! Use of lights. Who you going to call? Map Busters!Currently, I will gladly take any feedback towards the improvement of looks and gameplay. I especially will take power weapon suggestions as I am stuck between quite a number of them (please, no concussion, sword, rocket launcher, or spartan laser). I think this looks pretty good, but I have a few things to mention from these two images. The first image has the walls being made of Brace Larges. The balcony- like area however has a sort of 2D look due to the walls being the same style. I would recommend flipping the piece 180 degrees so the light side of the piece is showing, giving it a sense of difference. Also, what are the 1x5's for? My other issue is in the second picture, why is there a 1-way shield door? It just looks bad and I dont see a purpose other than for a railing. I would rather lower all the railings so there was no visible glass and use the same piece and columns on the incline there. One last suggestion I have is to make a tactical jump using rocks between the outside portions seen in the second image.
Post Busters: Don't use light colored font. I'm not going to strain my eyes to read anything below size 4 until you change it to something visible on FH light. The two pictures you gave also don't show much of the map It looks like you used a shield door as a railing in one of the pictures. Shield doors should be avoided if at all possible. Those doors look awesome, but you should increase the width of the bar in the middle slightly if at all possible so it can afford some real protection. It would work to disrupt battle in some cases, but it skinny enough that shooting around it would not be a problem. The images you have don't show much of the map so it would be nice to see something a bit more overviewish.
@ xAudienceofone To start out, flipping the pieces would reveal a lot of exposed spots and would rather leave the map not as clean. The 3x1s are for influencing others to use jet pack more often rather than just sprint as it helps create a more diverse choice and give the jet pack a decent advantage. The shield doors were just an idea that I wanted to see would work with the community, obviously not and that will be replaced. Lowering I will consider after some testing. Sorry if I sound stubborn just pointing out what's up. @Pyro6666 Yeah, shield doors will be removed and taken care of ASAP. New screenshots will be up Monday as I have school tommorow and I just got off of work so I need good sleep, I apoligize. I would like to consider working more with the doors, and I will see if we can work around your dream door. Also, if you are wondering, I kind of wanted to see if it would get any views before putting up any more than 2 shots. Thanks for the comment.

Okay, I dont see how keeping the pieces exactly where they are though but flipping them 180 degrees on the y axis would change what is seen. As for the ledges that promote jetpacks, it an interesting idea, but that area looks like it has no way up aside from jetpacks. Not necessarily bad for just a ledge, but I would suggest making the ledge smaller and therefore losing cover. the height advantage is significant there. Obviously I don't mean to push my ideas on you Im just sharing my thoughts, which is what a preview is all about after all. Hope I am being helpful.
Large Braces, with the way he is using them, curve inward into the middle of the map, disappearing into the rest of his ceiling, and allowing them to not jut outwards, because if he did that, you'd then complain about that. the way he has it is the way i'd do it.
But that part is above the whole ceiling. You cant see it inside and you could easily hide it from the outside. I still think it's worth trying. The walls on the inside just look so similar that it looks flat and uninteresting.
when you say: "you could easily hide," your are saying he could "add" a roof and change the whole look of the outside, therefore changing the overall look, overall feel, and overall design. but what you are actually trying to say is: I don't prefer your aesthetics.
That idea with the aesthetics is pointless, because in game it should be obvious how it is shaped. The ledge is just a terrible idea. Most people put tons of effort into limiting jetpacks because they naturally give the user a huge and often gamebreaking advantage. I expected it was part of some other aesthetic piece and had a killzone over it. The reason shield doors are bad is that they mess with the physics and unless used for special purposes they should be avoided.
Absolutely not, stop putting words in my mouth (or in this case posts) and listen. I have a slight issue with one small section. I suggested a different approach and think that he should attempt it and see how it looks before dismissing it as it takes little time to do, and put back if Sugar doesnt like it. Nowhere in there is any hint of your false summary that I "dont like or prefer your aesthetics".

Anyway i really like the look of this map and i agree with the tips audience of one mentioned those few things may change parts of the map and maybe even the feel but sometimes its for the better all you can do is try and if it works great, if not then try something else. And i noticed you mentioned vehicles, What type exactly?
Thank you. I also never said i wasnt dressing aesthetics. I was saying your comment "...but what you are actually trying to say is: I don't prefer your aesthetics." is false. I don't dislike his aesthetics, Im suggesting new approaches and it wont bother me if Sugar doesnt like them. Back to the map I like what I have seen so far. I would like to see more and know what your vehicles in the map are.
Listen guys, Audience of One and Cookie kay, I understand Audience's pointers and appreciate the feedback. I understand his points and will do my best to work with his opinions as they matter to me as with everybody's good criticism. Also, I placed a Falcon and a warthog in the surroundings and are not a part of the map just a touch of destruction is all. For cookie Kay, I appreciate your assistance and will add you, thank you. Towards Pyro's points... I think it was him I apologize if not, I know jet packs can be very useful but so many maps do not give it some of those good advantages and it is simply an idea and I will surely lower or replace the 1x3s with something more useful for sure if jet packers have too much of an advantage. As for Landers thank you as well it has been in the works but I hope to get it better, I see improvements now. I too agree with his views and will get that up. Now for everybody, let's play nice and be good posters I thank you all for the feedback as long as you are nice. So far pretty good. New screen shots to be up in at most an hour.
