It is EA so who knows. They are notorious for having these kinds of server problems. I remember when BC2 came out the game was almost unplayable the first week. I hope they fix that for the release of BF3, but I am sure we will have the same problem on the 25th.
UNTIL END OF BETA?!?! better be an exaggeration, lol. Hopefully it is. Ill just play Super Meat Boy until then
I mean I do not work for EA, so everything I say is purely speculation, but it really depends on how hard they work to open up more servers. I am assuming they will start to convert some of BC2's servers over to the BF3 beta. There were no real connection issues during the closed beta, and it was not until around the time that school would be letting out that the issues started to arise today. Which means the servers have just been overloaded! Let's hope they work hard to rectify this problem! Edit: My advice is if you do get in a game, don't leave
Consider how long it took Bungie to fix the Reach servers, and then look at how much better of a company Bungie as opposed to Dice when looking at fan support. I'm not keeping my hopes up.
AHHHH It was all planned!! i was going to play this beta all night and now I have nothing to do! Cmon Dice get yo **** togetha They should have known this would have happened.
You think that's bad? If I chose to download it, it would take over 52 hours. Curse this horrible connection of mine.
I downloaded the beta, tried getting in a game, servers aren't working. I'm downloading the beta to PC as well, to see if I have better luck on this.
Servers, though still quite broken, seem to be much better than they were between 6pm to 9pm eastern, either the fix worked, or all of the 8 year olds that were clogging the system up had left to go to bed. Either way, rocking a shiny new Staff Sergeant rank, along with my shiny new SKS with a rifle scope, bipod and silencer.
Just got done playing a **** ton until the game froze my Xbox. Played around 10 to 15 games and only lost one of them and I only had two other friends in my squad to coordinate with. My initial thoughts: AKS-74u feels way to overpowered compared to the M4A1. Not enough lens glare on the sniper rifles, also they kill way too fast. They need to be bumped up to at least a 3 shot kill. G17C needs to be toned down. Deploying the Bipods is glitchy. Knife detection is... Wait, there is no knife detection. Operation Metro? More like Operation DICE CANNOT INTO MAP DESIGN. God bless your heart if you decide to use the Shotguns. I like the game, I really do. However, I would hardly call this a beta as they can hardly fix all these problems and more by the time they ship the damn game.
Open Beta. Hit A on multiplayer. "The connect to EA online was lost." Any solutions? At all? EDIT: nvm, it's working now
None of your complaints are things that actually need to be changed, aside from the bipod, perhaps. Heck, the lens flare is nearly as bright as a flashlight when you're indoors, and that is simply impossible. It's a little early to be complaining about balance, though. What does need to be fixed is the lingering bullet trails, rockets that stretch textures they pass through, the inability to aim if you press the L trigger during a reload, clipping, missing soldier animations, and periodic loss of game volume.
Got a game on this earlier. This was my first ever Battlefield experience and it was pretty awesome. Something looked weird with the color palette though, everything seemed kinda bright. Maybe I'm just OCD but it bothered me. Also, why did they wait until now to release the beta? Seems kinda pointless because the whole point of a beta is to have the community test the game so changes can be made if necessary. The game is definelty already finished and will likely ship out to retial stores soon if it hasn't already..
