Hey there, I was making a puzzle map, and I wanted the player to be weaponless, and the gametyoe for it is invasion, anyone mind explaining how to achieve such a goal.
To achieve a state of weaponlessness, you must be holding two weapons that are gated when the round ends. That way both disappear off the map, and you are holding nothing. This cannot, consequently, be achieved until at least phase two of the game.
To add on to that, make two fixed, gated weapons the player is required to pick up to proceed then force him to go though a territory, capturing it, and activating phase two which will delete the gated weapons. While you're at it you could give him unlimited armor lock too (delete the armor lock pack while the player is in armor lock).
It's a puzzle map, with no weapons. I'd go ahead and guess that player damage would be set to 0. Plus, you know, the whole no weapons thing. And the fact that you wouldn't have grenades unless the puzzle required it.
It seems that the whole invasion thing is too complicated, I'm just gonna do oddball, anyone here mind showing me how to make oddball compatible with the players being weaponless?
1.Spawn a turret and hologram. 2.Get the hologram and go to the turret. 3.Get on the turret, break it and use hologram at the exact same time 4.You should now lack a weapon.
You know with the numerous puzzle forgers and machinima needs for weaponless players, it seems that 343i should simply make at least a handful of game types accept the property value NONE for both primary and secondary weapons. These work arounds are far more complicated than most puzzle map players should be expected to perform just to play on a puzzle map, and you don't want any way for a player to break the weaponless rules of the map.
I really don't understand why you want the player to have no weapons for a puzzle map. The closest you can get is Sword starts as long as you don't mind people smacking things.
