I'm not a fan of AL in any form, be it pick-up or at spawn. Of course, it being pick-up makes it less of a problem, but a problem nonetheless. If someone's using AL it only slows down the game. What do people do when someone else is in Armor Lock? They wait. Not quite the best thing you would want on your map. Also, OS doesn't give you invincibility on demand. Someone with OS has to use it before it depletes and therefor gets moving towards the enemy. The AL user can just hang back and wait for the enemy. It doesn't add anything to a map, it only detracts from it.
I'd have to argue with you there. You have no idea how many time in H3 that I walked to an OS spawn, only to find someone camping there, waiting for someone to go by so they could take the overshield and use the invincibility that it gave you while charging to kill me.
That's different that being able to use AL on any place on the map at any moment. If I posted something dumb as that I would get another infraction. You probably won't. Heh.
Look, I agree with you in terms of disliking AL altogether. I'm all for diversity in Reach, but AL is one thing I'd be happy to see taken out of the game altogether. I'm just saying that there are those who enjoy the dynamic AL adds, and it's much less obtrusive as a pickup, something you have to work to gain and that you lose when you die.
I didnt think reach had the 3 sec. invincibility when picking up the OS. I never see it anyway, but I thought that was gone and that it was also easier to burn it as well.
Don't hate on my armor lock 'till you try it. I almost stabbed myself putting it in, but the contrast of Evade and Armor Lock add a unique dimension to the game.
No offense Cade, love ya and all, but I'm not too impressed by the screens... Maybe after I get my xbox back out here and a new gold account I'll be able to take a better look... But from the screen shots, it really doesn't look like much.
Thats how I feel too, I've been caught between confusion and mildly euphoric joy at the reception the map has received...
One thing I noticed while flying through the map is that it seems that you don't really have one consistent eh... theme so to say. You've added a lot of nice aesthetically pleasing objects, but they all seem so disconnected from each other. It's nice to have a bit of diversity in a map to help orientating, but I think you wen't a bit overboard with it. It doesn't influence the gameplay or anything, but I think it was still worth noting.
I actually enjoy the look of this map. Most 2 v. 2 maps look nice and very clean, but few have an original or interesting aesthetic feel, and fewer use pieces in a new way. While the map does feel a little overboard, as Overdoziz mentioned, I think that is better than maps that have one nice area with a flowing blandness around them. Overall this is quite nice for a symmetrical 2 v. 2.
Well, me being a theme-****, this map is not my favorite at all. It feels very cluttered in my mind, which I don't like at all! I was almost embarrassed for it to be posted...
It's a very good choice and in my op very well forged. And i can tell you from a first hand ass wuppin i handed out that it works very well. I like the multiple floors, it really adds a certain character to the map.
I did a 2v2 with Surchin on this without bloom (well 2v3 rape when Security joined) and it didn't seem cluttered at all. Although the spawns were quite predictable.
I meant aesthetically. I think it plays like I spent a year on it, the map simply doesn't LOOK like I spent a year on it.
No, but look at how ****ing unfair it was. Also, Surchin was high off of no bloom and rocket launcher multikills. But spawnkilling Surchin was nice.
