    I do.

I'm not saying I want them to play the same (I actually don't have any interest in Quake remakes in Halo. I'm satisfied playing Q3), but I'm just saying Quake maps are good in Quake, but not elsewhere. From what I've experienced, Quake maps tend to play really 'campy' in Halo. The different physics completely change the way you play the map.

I honestly think anyone who's re-making Quake maps in Halo to be wasting their time. It can be a nice forge exercise, but it doesn't result in a good map.

Well, from the games ive gotton on it, it hasnt played campy at all, and player movement feels natural and alot like quake IMO.
Flow is flow, no matter the engine.

I have played several games on this, and campy would not be a word I would use to describe this map. I would agree that some quake maps just do not translate well into Halo, although with a few tweaks, and a custom gametype some play amazing.

Agreed, flow is flow no matter the game. It is all about player manipulation.

    Flow isn't "flow".
    This is Quake's flow:
    This is Quake flow.

Quake's maps were designed with this kind of "flow" in mind, and that's why they don't play well outside of Quake. Anyway, I've said what I wanted to say. All my opinion, too, so whatever.

From the pics you've shown, the map looks pretty slick. The aesthetics in the first pic in the OP look especially cool. Can't wait to see the final product.

rogue, you're just being silly. Flow is not just flow. Player movement and flow change when you change the game that you're playing, even if the map is essentially the same design. The rocket jumps in quake are designed so that they can actually be used in game, for the most part, and that trick jumping montage you posted has no actual use in-game, whereas quake games allow for rocket jumps quite a bit. Fact is, if you transfer one design into another game, changes need to be made to make the maps play as well as they did in the initial game. Even Halo 1 to Halo 3 managed to ruin designs like Chill Out, or Halo 2 to Halo 3 with Lockout.

Lol, I suppose that video wasn't the best piece of evidence.
I do however feel like this map transferred really well into halo, and while some others do not, this does.
I would be happy to get a game on it with you and get some new criticism and ideas for the map.

    EDIT:
I believe we will be calling the gametypes "Microseism 1v1" and "Seism 2v2"
Both gametypes feature HUGE path prediction, which makes the grenade metagame quite exciting, and the game very fast paced and fun!

    Microseism 1v1 (suggested gametype):
A combination of NR 1v1 and Aftershock Gametypes.
    200 speed
    90 jump
    150 gravity
    110 damage
    NR starts

    Seism 2v2:
    150 speed
    90 jump
    150 gravity
    100 damage
    NR starts

Obviously we aren't trying to remake quake itself, we are trying to bring SOME of the feel and SOME of the gameplay to halo. So A: Were not replicating it. None the less, they are still enjoyable to play on in their own way. :p B: There's no camping necessarily as we changed halos game settings. C: With the settings that I built the map around in the first place the concussion rifle launched you almost exactly the same height as rocket launcher in quake. Though you still can't strafe jump you can do that. Plus, strafe jumping isn't much help in this original map aside from just getting around quicker.

I sort of know what you mean by it's just not the same without the trick jumps because in halo 2 and halo 3 I was a trick jumper and I used more than a lot of them in matchmaking to get the advantage

but enough with this non-sence. If you don't like to play remakes because you simply like quake better, think of it as a whole new map or don't play it. :)

Update: We have been testing 1v1s and small person free for alls, video and pictures soon to be added then when we feel the map is good enough we will hopefully post the map.
