I've made like, 20 of these. I just used a normal knife for the slits, and it came out fine. I hate having to wait until Optifine comes out for 1.8 to play properly. I need a new god damn computer.
you have to wait for optifine for it to work right on your computer? I feel bad for you. on a semi related note, I like how there is a kind off fog of war when you get down to the bedrock, it adds a really cool vibe to my underground city, kinda like its bee flooded by smoke from forges or something. Also helps keep you from being able to see the sunrise because the walls are too far away.
Does that reflective water mod drastically affect the playability? I really do love it, but im skeptical to install it.
It's amazing. Install it. I gave up my customized GLSL shaders with waving water, waving plants and wheat, DOF, god rays, bloom, and waving netherrack. So yes, it is worth it.
I decided to give adventurecraft (the mod thingy for minecraft) a try, if its anything like the trailer for it, then it will be epic. (it supports 1.8 also) EDIT: Im giddy as a schoolgirl for the idea of playing zelda in minecraft, here we go!
So, I was trying out some random map seeds, mostly using names of large cities across the world and I came across a few I'd like to share. Especially one. Two interesting ones I found: Toronto, Canada (include the comma) Backwash Island However, the best one I came across and am still finding to be epic is: Paris, France (again, include the comma.) Things I've found so far in my travels across this seed: Two lakes of surface lava, one of them having started a massive natural forest fire. Two villages, one of them on a desert island with parts of buildings spawned in the water. A submerged ravine (one of those canyon like things). A massive (almost, there's a tiny land bridge) floating island that looks kind of suggestive of certain male body parts. A grassland that has taken me three in-game days to cross and I still can't see the end of it. A mountain on the edge of a desert biome so half of it is made out of sand. I really enjoy this seed. Just thought I'd share it.
I don't even know if they spread, never really gave much thought on that. I think that I'm turning my underground city into an adventure map, its gonna be sweet.
now that I think about it, I may use them to give part of my city a delapidated/overrun feeling EDIT: I have a screenshot of a sort of view of the layout of my city, the square is 100x100 and there are four of them that make up the entirety of the city. yeah, i use toomanyitems, get over it
There's some vines in a couple of trees above the gorge I've turned into my home, and they are spreading like crazy. Shame I can't seem to collect any to place somewhere else though, I don't know if I need a tool or what.
