either those aren't new, or they just don't seem new because they were leaked earlier. Cause I've seen all of that footage
its the same footage they showed at e3 and pax. except there was less shown at e3. there was more at pax but it wasnt released as an official video by bethesda, it was just recorded by someone watching the presentation
Anyone notice the music in the third video from 0:00 to 0:55 is originally the exploration music from Morrowind?
I noticed. Despite never having played Morrowind. I'm amazing like that. -- They also confirmed you can become a vampire in the game, which sounds great, although I hate that you have to avoid sunlight. I hope there is some sort of parasol or spell you can use to move around during the day.
Being a vampire in Oblivion had it's advantages, but it wasn't worth the trouble, imo. Having to wait for sunset wasn't too bad, but after the two or three days, your face became disfigured, and it was annoying dealing with hostile NPCs. I eventually just started feeding every other night to prevent any negative effects (also negating most of the positive ones), but then I encountered a game-breaking glitch... thus ending my journey as a vampire. I made sure not to get infected with my next character. I think it's cool that they are bringing it back in Skyrim though. It's there if you want to use it, but easily avoidable/curable if you don't.
I hate that it's both a detriment and benefit to resist feeding. Aren't they supposed to draw strength from blood? Who knows how they've set it up for Skyrim though.
God I thought being a vampire would be the coolest thing in Oblivion. It sucked once I actually became one lol. Then I went through the grueling process of changing back to a human. I got stuck in a really annoying pickle where I was in the NPC ladies house where she helps you turn back, but I accidentally cast a spell on her. It was light outside and I was about to die, so I couldn't run. You can't rest outside when you are taking damage (the sun was hurting me) and when I went back inside the lady was summoning monsters on me. FMOL (**** My Oblivion Life)
Lol, I tried it, but saved before I did it. Needless to say I didn't leave that file save unloaded for long. It just sucked unwashed ass.
As big of an Elder Scrolls fan as I am, I never actually bothered with vampirism in Morrowind or Oblivion. Seems fun if you do a bit of role playing and adhere to a specific character type, but I never messed with it myself.
Same, even when the first leader of the Dark Brotherhood offered you his 'bite' the next time you slept, as a gift for completing your contracts. Something rather homoerotic put me off that.. Whenever i was infected i just went to the church. Curing diseases with water. The gods are overpowered in Oblivion.
Speaking of the Dark Brotherhood, seeing as they're in Skyrim, I hope, given that you can join them, that the assassination contracts are more interesting than the ones in Oblivion. Not that the ones in Oblivion weren't interesting, they were great, but I hope that Skyrim's are even better. More zany and creative methods of completing the contracts are the ticket, and hopefully Bethesda will provide. Looking forward to it.
I still like when Tod Howard showed off the game at QuakeCon, and everyone was like "KILL THE WOLVES!" when he was trying to explain the water details or something.
TEABAG HIM! KILL THE WOLF! JUMP OFF THE CLIFF! I ****ing hated trying to watch that video with the crowd. Also, that video can be found in a crapload of places. Just not youtube.
