Fixed those spawns yet? I'm surprised this map hasn't received a single post yet. Forgehub probably just hates the MLG guys. And tell Fritzster to stop trying to herp-a-derp on this map like he's Ogre 2. He can't do it. He just can't do it.
i do love playing on this map a lot, I do hope spawns are adjusted. The grenade launcher on bottom does help a lot for player traffic. although you didn't post updated pics sadface . I may have been a prick to you but i dare not let that affect my judgement. I would love to see more creations from you. I dont dislike this map's overall design, but I think you could spice up the wall design a little with pillars or something of the sort. Keep working away, one thing i will say is not to worry too much of frl, it truly limits your skills but do take the time to consider it after the map is built. I think you will get more creative designs. Good luck and keep up the good work.
Nice map, although I'm not a fan of MLG, still the nice gameplay and the clean aesthetics made it all worthwhile.
You know that describes many MLG maps, right? Check out something from iLevvi, a Polish Korean, Bretamalad, Fritzster, xSalot, SecretSchnitzel, iTz Dawkins, menotyou135, IMPERIUM VII, Champloo Who, Waldo the Lemon, Solo XIII, II Sethiroth II, Bleuprint, or magicandscience and you'll see what I mean. Gameplay is the main focus and the standard of MLG. That has not been forgotten.
I have two pics at the bottom to show the change to the bases. FRL was a huge priority on this map. I wanted pros to be able to LAN on it with no lag, which means no flashy features or details. I wanted to create that simplistic, perfectly balanced gameplay that pros enjoy, but with a unique layout. This map marks the end of me designing maps around MLGs "requests". I forge what I want now, with nothing (but myself) to limit me. Since the release of Terrace, I have been doing some very experimental designs, and one map that has very detailed architecture that I know Forgehub will love. I won't be releasing anything soon, though. I am going to spend much more time on my maps from here on out.
Honestly I think this map is very ascetically pleasing, it might not be "flashy" as you put it, but I think the object use and the clean forging makes this a great looking map and great playing map. I hope you stick with this idea, and not try and please FH users. MLG has some great maps, but in all honesty a lot of times they are not very clean. I'm not saying that there are not clean forged MLG maps because I have seen several AMAZINIG MLG maps, but it seems the good majority are not. It makes me sad that this map did not do so well on the MLG site, cuz I think this map ranks up with Embassy easily. Great Job man, and I will DL and check our your updated version. Seems like you have changed the few things that had bothered me with this map.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? lol. I will not try to please anybody. I will forge what I want, as should everybody. It was submitted to the Arena request, and hasn't been dropped yet...So that's something. Ranks with Embassy? That's a huge compliment. I appreciate you having the ability to show kindness after our dispute. It really shows character.
lulz no I'm sure every forger, bad or good, has the same intent of making a good map. The thing is that MLG forgers are much more serious and don't understand that other forgers just want to forge. MLG forgers do have the habit of getting in the way of that. I myself am a MLG enthusiast and as an inside man, the MLG community is something to be admired; especially for their forging talent. Any sign of arrogance is just natural and should be ignored. just get know them. I'm sorry for the digression, back to the map. After a forge-through, I found the map to be awfully small. However, it didn't feel so. The ramps going up though could use some cover. And blocking LoS from camo to objective could help too. Good map, and look forward to more here and MLG forums.
I don't believe arrogance should be ignored. There is no reason to justify it. The map is rather small, but I wanted to make a map that has constant fighting so it would be fun to watch on the circuit. The gameplay on Reach is so slow, it had to be small to provide the gameplay I required. Also, keep in mind that the map has a fair amount of depth, so decent spawning is possible and the gameplay isn't too hectic. You have to play it to understand. I don't know what you mean by ramps going up. Which ones? They all go up, lol. I didn't find that the LoS to objective was a problem, but I will look into it, thank you.
Hey man nice to see you posted this in competitive, I actually got a 1v1 on it and it played really nice, although I think I would have a very hard time doing an MLG 4v4 without getting destroyed lol. Anyway just wanted to put it out there that I feel it supports smaller numbers of players too. The version I played still had evade on it so I need to get this again and try it with a GL. I hope you don't think I've been avoiding you on Live I would still really like to get you in forge on Abyss to give advice. It's just that every time I'm on recently I have irl friends wanting to do team slayer and I didn't want to be like 'no i have to go forge now'. Hopefully I'll catch you when we're both free, would like to see whatever you're working on atm.
The updated version is much better for callouts, transitions, and spawns so you should try a 4v4 (doesn't have to be MLG) and see how you think it plays. I have not been on recently so I haven't even got a chance to see you avoiding me, lol. We'll meet up and discuss Abyss in time.
Congrats on making forgehub's most hated. Seem's Waldo was wrong after all. I didn't realise it was one of the new favourites at first, and was all like, Whait what? How did this get bumped to the front page without getting any posts? No, but really, bro. Congrats. It was kind of unexpected to be honest. Still need to get games on this and get past just knowing the layout is good on paper and in theory.

Layout is good. Cloak location is cool. Weapon set is boring. Seems to fall under the typical dull-looking, function-only MLG maps, which the more talented MLG forgers have managed to conquer with maps such as Nexus and Oasis (except Sanctuary of course, which is as dull as dull gets).
