This. He could have posted this lagfest of a map with no offensive symbolism, but chose to be disrespectful. Watch out, if you post anything pro-christian it will get deleted.
Bloo Jay gave me an infraction for my comment speaking out against this offensive material which is clearly as against the forum rules. I guess Christian members have no voice here about what is offensive?
People post loads of christian based stuff on this forum all the time. I've seen churches, crosses, etc all pointing in the opposite direction at a fervent faith of jesus and whatnot. Do you wanna know how many people complained about those maps being offensive? Zero... The choice of aesthetic pieces is entirely up to the author. He could have went a more religious route and made a everyday church. He could have crafted a rock sculpture of jesus. He could have made a swastika to convey maybe a certain time period. He could have made a statue of a ****ing pony taking a dump. And it's really not like the author went out of his way to make the aesthetics in question either. In fact, they fit rather well. I don't think a "I hate christians" approach was at all the goal here. Although, you guys seem to be doing a fine job of asserting that on yourselves. If there was a point to be made by this map, you're only further proving it really.
i just noticed only 6 people have actually downloaded the map, lol. people should really play a map before bashing it. i thought the aesthetics were nice until i saw it up close.
I find this claim interesting because I asked if I made a map with a burning cross what would happen...and he said I'd be banned for 6 months. Prime example of a double standard.
I'm glad to hear Christian themes are not objected to and I agree the author has the option to include what they want in their map. I also should be allowed to voice my opinion when those things are offensive to me personally without getting an infraction or foul comments directed toward me. Bloo even commended the abusive comment in the infraction saying "Couldn't have said it better myself". So the foul comment directed toward me was commendable, and not a violation of forum rules then? If I had said "Too many clustered objects on screen will cause lag (which I'm sure it will), I'm not downloading." That would have been okay I suppose. It's not like I just said "The map sucks." I gave my opinion and valid reason for not DL the map.
u need to understand double standards... a burning cross and an anti cross are two very different things. i dont like the theme of this map, but it fits the theme of a dark arena and gives it a good flair. i honestly think if this was a christian church, more people would be upset because u are fighting in a holy place. the church of satan feels like a better place to fight a blood sport we call slayer. people are protesting against crosses at the WTC memorial... that is rediculous. people need to stop talking about the theme and start talking about how this map really plays... which isnt all that great
burning cross is anti-christian pentagram is pro-satanism pro-satanism =/= anti-christian therefore burning cross =/= pentagram Lets say i'm a satanist, that means that some of you are practicing hate against my religion by dejecting my holy symbols, and if I or anyone else choose to use these symbols in any map (not saying myself or author are satanists) it is EXACTLY the same as posting a cross or any other symbol. Interesting when you turn the table....
I took a look at the map, like people have said, a bit open, and some z-fighting, that can be fixed. And concerning the peentagram and cross, it looks cool, to cristians its offensive, if you had put a right side up cross and had no pentagram, it would have been offensive to satanists. Overall, a great shock value map.
