I ran across a map today made by Frenchy's named... Tha Balade Of Queen Bee And baby Duck Trough Exo Politics City I was like "Wow! What a name!" Then I wondered, what's the strangest map name's you have seen forgers come up with in the past? A strange or clever name sure seems to help get your map noticed and remembered.
You clearly don't know recon speller very well. I think the map for cawk blawkin is called club guido juice which is slightly odd.
-Occlupanid -Persnikety Paraprosdokians and their Misadventures Across the Chronospheroid -Coccineous Cluppeoids -Finding Floccinaucinihilipilificationism -Jocular Jak and her Jumpy Jalopy -Fissicostate -Herpetology -The Anatidaephobic Querquedule -Dedans: Dead Inside? -The City Of Manastis and It's Septemfluous Circle Future -The Longing of Lexander Leftfoot -Shanktimonious -Sinistromanual -Syzygy Synergy -LiqueFunktion -Salmanazar -All Invisible Except for the Quellazaire -Eroll Merrill Lerril's Novel Novity Bazaar -Chartreuse -The Odd And the Obfuscated -All That Is Tall IE, take random words and mash them together!
The only reason anyone ever uses over the top map names is to get more attention toward your map. When someone sees a name that sticks out, their initial reaction is, more often than not, curiosity. My first good map was named Mudkip Farm, Noxiw and I co-forged a map named Galaxy Milk, and Ace and I co-forged Sassafras. That was back in Halo 3 where I never really saw a lot of over the top names for competitive maps, but now I definitely see them a lot more. As far as the absolute strangest? MLG BIRTHDAY PARTY.
But would we get so many cool maps if they had kept to the old ways? Plus, the Halo 3 Forge is still there. You just need to set every single object to normal or fixed. EDIT: But if you are reffering to some of the objects in Halo 3 forge, then yeah, I'm with you on that one.
Let's see . . . Mockknizzle has SwooshyV Awesome.3 ... which is pretty boss. And frozenlynx has Samson and Humphrey, I have one named lumpy pudding. Psychoduck and shoe have a number of silly names with a spin to the word concept; such as Corncept, Proof of Chroncept and ConceptSHOEal. EDIT: You should see the rest of his maps... their names are pretty... out there.
Mockknizzle and I have Swooshy v Awesome.3. I have S if that counts, and Shoe and I also have Conecept, Pyramidcept, and Bananacept. I think the Ballad of queen whatever and the duck thingy is the strangest I've seen though.
Soupy Hedgehog Quantum Jizz Salty Spidermonkey Nebulous shapeshifter Cheezy wick Grumpy Garbage so on so forth... those are some of the WiP names myself and Vyctoriouz used in our forging days. And that's just a fraction of them.
The working title for my most recent map was Donkeys in Space. I guess it's for the creators, too. It's often difficult to find a map, especially when it has a generic name. Having something that stands out helps me find maps in the sea of files.
I picked up a habit from MUDNUB of naming maps after celebrities or fictional characters when I can't think of anything better. My map variant list is currently full of half finished maps with names like Jackie Chan, Voldemort and Captain Haddock. I'm also working on an infection map called Tom Jones.
We need to release that map. All the names for my WIPs seem to be kind of weird. I sort of picked up what Kuroda and Vyctoriouz did/do with the weird combinations. One of the ones I have right now is poached spud.
Well I happy You Like It ! All My next map will have Retarded And funny name . Add me on XBL : Frenchys [br][/br]Edited by merge: Oh and Pyro, .... Recon F**king Speller is past now, ...... you better live with that .
