I can see where he's coming from to be honest. Notch (along with other people over at Mojang) announce things before they are finalized. We were also promised other things. I think Mojang has a brilliant philosophy but I wish what they said they were going to do and what they actually do would be a bit more consistent. "Next update: something new! Nevermind, we're gonna hold off on it for now" It seems like that for every update and they haven't even added some of the things yet. I'm not bitching or at least, that's not how I was trying to sound. I can understand how someone can get frustrated at this kind of stuff though. It's like saying, "You want this awesome cheeseburger? Too bad, not on the menu."
@taco I love how the first paragraph is about you resenting the common feeling throughout the community, ten the second and third are expressing it. Also, taco, nobody gives a **** if you have played minecraft since infdev. Stop with the contradictory self righteous banter. I find it funny how when notch misses an assumed release date, he's suddenly the worst person in the world. But when a giant industry company like VALVe misses an announced/advertised release date it's perfectly acceptable? People are idiots. /topic
I'm generally disappointed whenever ANY scheduled date is missed from anybody, Stickman. I'm quite punctual.
Not to sound like a ****, but I didn't see any of this complaining when VALVe didn't give us the Portal 2 DLC we were promised this summer...
I don't own Portal 2, so that's not very relevant. You told Taco to stop talking on behalf of the community, when you do the same exact thing.

You said you were mad when any company missed a release date, and I gave an example of a time when a company missed a release date and you weren't mad.

My wall of text was not only attacking Notch, it was attacking those who have been whining and pushing around Notch. We would have had much more content in Minecraft had people not complained about too little time between releases so they can update their mods and texture packs. I am angry at Notch because he was fueling that said group of whiners by taking a vacation right before 1.8's release. More so at the fact he listened to them, and slowed updates. I also said that he shouldn't give release dates or guesses and letting the community down or angering them. If he did that people would not gain momentum in their arguments. People would not be let down again. I was looking at it from three perspectives actually. Notch giving in to the whiners because he felt bad or didn't want people to lose interest. The people who have been waiting and just keep getting let down every time the release date come and go. Thirdly the whiners who don't get the product they expect because they don't understand Minecraft is a indie game in beta. That's all I was saying. I'm just expressing my opinion on the way Notch has developed Minecraft recently. If you must know Stickmanmeyhem I'm among those who are getting let down every time I see the dates pass. I was not whining about the release date getting changed personally, just voicing the opinions of others. Notch could have made better decisions. Now this has turned into another ****ing wall of text. Well done Taco... I'm sure people have LOTS to worry about when they are wasting their time browsing a minecraft discussion thread. Taking two sentences out of a speech does not give the audience a very good grasp on what it is about. Things like that are used frequently in politics. They do it for the same reason you do. To manipulate. Next time quote my whole rant. That would give everyone a much better perspective on what this is all about. Homer who IMO has the most sense out of those arguing with me as he misinterpreted what I meant, made me look like someone who will start a topic on the MC forums about the delay of 1.8 and how Notch is lazy. Which I am not BTW. My post was meant to explain my opinion, not get more people arguing with me. That's just really counter-productive way of thinking. Argument over. It used to actually relate to MC, but now you children are just bickering back and forth. In short, drop it, and resume normal discussion relating to the game made of blocks you guys love so much. Or, I'll give you an infraction made out of blocks.
Blocks. <3 Technically until the 23rd of September, it's still summer. Doug Lombardi from VALVe said it should be out very late summer. But yeah, I never meant for what i said to turn out the way I did. Anyways, I'll be restarting my lets play in Minecraft for 1.8 so I have a new world, fresh new mobs and a fresh new experience to try to hopefully hold me over for a while. Minecraft has actually gotten a bit boring.
Its somewhat like my days of forging, some days I feel the urge to play, some days I am totally un-inspired and can't think of jack **** to build or do. Having a huge project does help, but still, building an underground city all by yourself is only fun for so long. (mainly why I like survival to mix things up while I'm building)
To be honest I think the survival stuff they are adding is just going to get in the way of building. 1 or the other I don't think they can pull both off very well. Which sucks because I like the survival aspect when I'm just out wandering around the server.
