Fairly sure that's just the date that jeb wants everything to be done by, not an actual date for the patch.
Notch mentioned that it should be out SOMETIME this week. Which I'd suspect to be a weekday, nobody likes working weekends. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Minecraft 1.8 trailer - YouTube Woop.
Oh god, I was starting to stream an anime show while watching it and about halfway through it randomly the intro song started and it actually went well with the video so I thought it was part of it. Looks like i will have something to look forward to this week then i suppose.
He can just MC Edit all the **** in anyway. Not to say that's an annoying inconvenience. But that's the way when you're playing a game that's not finished yet.
Well Mojang has delayed the update. Again. I think they would be better off not mentioning dates that are impossibilities. This isn't Jeb's fault. It's Notch's fault for take 2 weeks vacation when the result would be delaying an update that people have been waiting weeks for. New date: September 12th Features to be in 1.8 Spoiler New Lighting Creative mode Skills Strongholds Abandoned Mineshafts New biome code New biomes Oceans Rivers Underground Ravines NPC's Villages Vines Red Brick Stairs Red Brick Slabs Grey Brick Stairs Grey Brick Slabs Iron bars Pumpkin/Melon farming Giant mushrooms Cracked, Mossy, Grey bricks Chicken Beef Watermelon slices Rotten Meat Quiver? Sprinting Hunger Experience bar/orbs Eating animation Critical Hits Bow drawing animation Chest opening animation Fleeing Animals Endermen mob Poison Blue Spiders mob Pigs now have snouts Feel free to let me know if I missed something.
It's a relief that most of what I thought would be delayed until 1.9 and any updates before then will actually be in 1.8; aside from NPCs, but eh, I'd rather Notch get them perfect then have a bunch of broken bots getting stuck like mobs do.
Why do people always complain about vacations and notch. He made the game, isnt signed to any strict release date except for Gold, and is an independant developer. Should I complain about you not coming to school one day because you went on vacation? The game is still in development, and you're treating it like he missed the official release date twice. He is allowed to do this. STFU.
Haha, well said bud. I'll slag the guy from time to time while playing out of frustration but only in good humor. The man built the game up from the ground and we've since been enjoying it and its updates for a measly twenty dollars (or cheaper based on purchase time) for months. Cut him a break.
Actually if you hadn't noticed from my writing, I don't really mind that Notch took a vacation and feel that he is very much inclined to do so. I do also think that he shouldn't promise or even guess a release date if he doesn't have one. Notch, being an indie game developer, doesn't understand that he would be better off to not give a release date. That way he wouldn't crush hopes and anger people. Where most developers would decline news of the exact release date or even their guess of the date. I don't think Notch should have taken a vacation as it's not very logical. Think. The development of 1.8 update was missing several key features and the result being that customers will have to wait until the next update for the missing features. I don't get paid millions and millions of dollars to go to school. I don't have millions of fans, depending on me. That's something Notch and you, apparently, take for granted. Now obviously it's a beta and not a finished product, but do you think that the average customer cares? They expect to to get updates often, and when Notch doesn't deliver they whine on the forums. Why do you think that Notch's updates are very spread out now? Because the millions of spoiled brats whine because they can't play the game they spent $20 on. Minecraft could have had assloads of more content. But commentary and other types of media hyped up the game much too fast. People just don't understand. They don't realize that Minecraft is an indie game still in beta. The expect much more. Minecraft to them, and to the media, is not just a beta indie game. Its a beta indie game that has sold 3+ million copies. I love Minecraft, but it's a bit overrated if you ask me. Minecraft has flourished because of the community. It's all been about the community, and it always will be. Servers, forums, texture packs, mods, commentaries. Thats what makes Minecraft what it is. If you don't agree with me and you honestly don't see truth in what I am saying, this is coming from someone who has had Minecraft since the beginning. Before SMP, Nether, Minecarts and redstone. I have seen everything to do with Minecraft, so STFU.
