On October 1, 2010, we should all post in Gunnergrunt's Vanilla thread, marking the map's 1-year anniversary. The map still remains the most posted in map thread since, for the most part, the release of Reach, and I want to keep it that way. Sorry for the short thread. I just thought it would be something cool, and if many people revive the thread, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that it does not count as necro-bumping.
A combined effort to bump a thread past its time, while well-intentioned, is not really the best thing to do on a forum system where maps are already hidden by the simple passage of posts.
This isn't really meant to revive the thread again. I don't think that's even possible. It's more of a 1-day thing where we all post something in the thread to "celebrate" the importance of that map. I mean, that was the map that started the whole "putting trees in maps for aesthetics" movement. Not to say that I care about aesthetics, but that's the only thing I can think of that it did before any other map.
Every single comment will end up getting deleted most likely. It's a good thought I suppose, but Gunner isn't active anymore, so I don't think he'll be there to appreciate the thanks.
This sounds like an excuse to justify spamming a thread. (Even if it is to celebrate something like "OMGTREESWTFBBQ)
But nothing stops you from making a blog about it or turning this thread into a "Remembering Gunnergrunt" thread.
You can post in the Vanilla thread if you want, as long as it's not a spam post. Posts that actually discuss the map, it's good and bad qualities, etc. are allowed, otherwise they will be infracted and deleted. Anyway, no need to make a thread to tell everyone to post on another thread. lock.
