Graphic designing is a good choice; if you've got talent, then companies look for examples of that talent, not necessarily a degree. A degree just gets you the interview, don't got creativity and you're boned.
graphic design is a terrible choice. you'll be doing what clients want you to do, which is going to be some of the most horrible looking **** on the planet. you'll be giving in to the biggest graphic design no-no's as requested by retards until you shoot yourself.

yeah. photography, id get into photography. if you can get decent with a camera, somebody will pay money for you to take grad pictures, wedding pictures, etc etc
