I just finished the video, and man did it bring back good memories. I can still remember the first time I played Halo in high school, and how much my mind was blown. Seeing all the clips from Halo 1-3 was just amazing, and I can't wait for what is to come. As for the comment about them being proud with Halo Reach(and that being a bad thing) I think we should look at the big picture. Overall, Reach is a good game, that just needs minor tweaks here and there, also we can never compare Reach to Halo or Halo 2. The gaming industry has changed so much in the last decade, and Halo now has a lot better competition. Anyways, enough about that. Everyone who has played this series through should watch this video!

    man... that video was inspirational.

having been a fan of bungie since playing marathon on my dads mac back in the day,
it was really cool to watch that and see how an independent developer rose to be kings.

that is dreams being made true right there.
i can only hope those of us aspiring to the same heights are half as successful.

A tear always comes to my eye at the end of a Bungie production. Be it a ViDoc, game, book, etc. Because there's always the future ahead, and I can't wait for it.

Why shouldn't they be proud of it? Reach is a great game. It might not be as good as previous Halo games, but they still put a ton of effort into to it and should definitely be proud of it.

I know, I still have yet to take over Forgehub and make it Shanonhub

    *sigh*

This vid brings back awesome memories of local LAN parties oh Halo CE... Much better experience than playing alone on LIVE.

That was touching, i think they overfocused on Halo, i mean Marathon was a massive success for them, it started to define FPS games forever. They said Pathways was their first great game, so why only show them popping shots at two headless then make a quick marathon reference and nothing more? There was a minuscule Oni reference and nothing on Minotaur.

...because they weren't massive world phenomenons like Halo. There's only so much you could show of old games before people get the idea. They spent the last 10 years with halo, that's a lot of time investment in 1 franchise on like the first 10 years of 4 different titles.

But they said it would be a vidoc about their games, their past, present, and future, but i can't say i expected more, it was an hour.

...right and 10 years of their past was Halo. The first 10 years was 4 different titles. Even giving 5 minutes to each would have been 20 minutes of the video.

That's a little less then half the video that would have been devoted to titles that, while holding high sentimental value to bungie and a few old school gamers, are not what they are universally acclaimed for.

Halo made them. That's all you need to know.

And the vidoc arose a sense of pride in me, maybe for being a part of halo since its start, maybe for growing up with it. Etc.

I still love the LAN parties we have from time to time. Nothing beats getting together in the same space, yelling strategies, talking trash, laughing at somebody getting blow up in a warthog, drinking way too many sodas and staying up way to late. Those were the days.

I loved the memories the ViDoc brought back, and I do look forward to whatever Bungie comes out with next. Their love for what they do and their connection to the community is what makes them unique and successful. I hope what they are working on is something totally different and fresh. I'm sure it will be great.

I watched the video a few days ago when it was released. It like many other have said brought back some fond memories of all night parties with several people bringing over tvs and xboxes to one place for the sole purpose of playing halo till dawn.

Bungie, love em or hate em, has taken halo so much farther than any of us imagined they would have. Yeah we were all let down from time to time but each game has had its highlights and we all still play them too.

My hope is 343 by taking over the halo project will continue to produce good solid games and try to keep Halo true to its roots. And I hope Bungie can pull something new together that will excite us all again like we were when we picked up the magnum for the first time and 3 shot an elite from across the map. Bungie has a great philosophy and has been a great company.

So this is the first Bungie Aerospace game.
I wonder if Aerospace is only for Ipad games, or will they do all mobile platforms?

Also, it looks like those windmills from the end of the Bungie vidoc might be in Bungie's next game after all.

Isn't bungie doing a remake of the Original Marathon and putting up for downloads on Iphone and Xbox Live?

And the fact that everyone who signed up to be a beta-tester and completed the quiz received an email asking if they would enjoy a FPSMMO. Other than that, yeah.

I find it peculiar that Bungie is looking for a World Designer (not level designer) and Economy Designer.

So we can look forward to trading in a world with dynamic AI. To me, that spells out MMO, but I am probably getting ahead of myself.

It's odd that you posted that right before I posted the above statement. We're on the same wavelength or something. Haha.

In the last vidoc, something odd I noticed was the footage of their mo-cap studios when they were talking about the new game (around the time you see the windmills and the sunset/sunrise) the actions the motion capture actors were doing were, odd, to say the least. Idk, that stuck out to me. It looked like they were handing something to each other, but it was stuck on the end of their fingers. It was bizarre. Maybe it was just me, but that scene is the part that really stuck out for me.
