Halo 1 Tricking/Glitching: The Ghost Froom Trailer

    Hello ForgeHub members.

    This is a trailer for an upcoming video about one of the greatest tricks/glitches ever accomplished in Halo: Combat Evolved (PC), the Ghost Froom. This trick is one of the most elaborate and complex tricks I have ever performed. It took several months to create it.

    The trick involves a six step process which can take as long as five hours to perform (it's that difficult). The ultimate result of the trick is a Ghost floating in an invisible barrier 150 meters above the map. If you have any questions about the trick please ask. I'll do my best to respond without spoiling too much before the final video.

    Please watch and enjoy the trailer, even if you are unfamiliar with Halo: Combat Evolved. I worked very hard on it. Feedback is appreciated.

    Note: Asides from the use of flycam for detached-camera footage no third party programs, mods, trainers, or hacks were used in the creation of this trick.

    It's a trailer. If I made it so everything was clear and understandable there wouldn't be anything left to show in the final video.

    CE Physics tricks, especially vehicle ones, are still miles better than any other Halo game. Good to see you keeping the flame alive, can't wait for this video.

    Remember the jump project or tower 2 tower? I still love the physics in this game more than any other halo game.

    Yeah, that was utterly awesome. CE > all in so many ways. Doing all this stuff in the remake is gonna be so cool, hope the modders can get a third-person camera up and working soon.

    If the physics turn into Reach physics im returning the game, just because thats why CE is so fun, even though im utterly STILL stuck on 343 Guilty Spark.

    The only addition made in the CEA campaign is a new graphics engine overlaid on top of the old one. The physics, gameplay and mechanics etc. are all exactly the same as the original CE, as it's still the original engine running in all those respects (the original graphics engine is still running too, just covered up by the new one unless you switch to 'classic' graphics).

    Yeah forgot that, I'm switching to old graphics every time i need the pistol, That pistol reminded me of Marathon's pistol, you always had way too much ammo then needed and it could take down the "Hulk" in like 4 dual weilded clips when it took more assault rifle clips than that.

    Indeed! You sir are 100% correct. I'm glad to finally see someone who understands. :)


    What's "the jump project"? I have never heard of this, unless it's a name I don't know of for a video I do know of. Tower 2 Tower was awesome. I know Duelies and Mr. Monopoli from jumprs.org. I helped encourage people and brainstorm for this challenge at HIH and jumprs as early as '09, it was great to see it finally completed.

    I love the physics too, why else would be still tricking in this game after 5.3 years?

    Third person camera for xbox though? I suppose it's possible. I don't know much about xbox modding.


    Campaign is the physics from the original, multiplayer is Reach multiplayer (that was really disappointing for me, as I'm primarily a multiplayer tricker.)

    We enjoy playing it, and we'll never stop! The original still yields new and interesting surprises.

    It was one hell of a process, you can't even begin to imagine. I'm excited for when I release the final video so you can see for yourself how much work this trick takes to perform.

    Oh and also, on the difficulty spectrum for tricks in Halo: CE this is at the top. Tower to Tower is difficulty level 11 (between 1 and 10, it's 11). The Ghost Froom is difficulty level 10. :)

    I was actually talking about third person cam for the CE remake, which tbh sounds even more difficult because (I think) mods are more difficult for 360 than they were for original Xbox.

    That said, I think it must be possible, or at least was on original Xbox. I think that the original RvB came out before the PC port of CE was released. I could well be wrong on that, but even then I know for damn sure that some H2 jump montages used a freecam mod, and that was definitely on Xbox cause it sure as hell wasn't H2 Vista.

    But yeah, as for CEA, I have no idea how easy or even possible it'd be as a mod. Here's hoping, though. Seeing something like Tower 2 Tower done again in HD would be glorious.

    I knew you were talking about third person/flying camera for the CE Remake... :|

    T2T done again in HD would be glorious. It's the first thing MrMonopoli, one of the guys to land it, is going to be doing when CEA comes out. :)

    Oh OK, crossed wires there lol. But yeah, hopefully it's still something that can be done relatively easily on 360.

    Awesome, will watch out for that.
