Hi fellow forgers! First of all, I will introduce myself real quick. I'm Icy Dark Moon (Icy is fine too) and I'm a dedicated forger since Halo 3. This is the very first time I share one of my maps on the internet. Please forgive me, for my English isn't the best. Hopefully, I'm doing it good Let's get to the map then. It's one of my oldest maps, as it's birth was just after Sandbox was released with Halo wars. I was never able to complete the map in Halo 3, so you can imagine I went crazy (in a good way) when I learned of Forgeworld. I present to you: Skyward (Formerly known as Deserted) Looking at this picture, you can see a clear resemblance to either Guardian or Lockout/Blackout. And that, my dear forgers, is not a coincidence! Back in Halo 3, I loved playing on Guardian and Blackout. When I saw Sandbox' Skybubble for the first time, I knew I wanted to create something like Guardian. I started with the center platform, slowly crafting walkways around it. When it was almost finished (spawnpoints and weapons), I had reached the object limit... I built it over again from scratch, but the final result was leaving Halo 3's forge. Then, Halo Reach came out and I was able to give it another go. Here we are, after Two long years. Able to finally play on what was once a shattered dream, a Deserted place... Skyward is, in short, a mix up of both Guardian and Blackout. Combining the best of both, such as: The snipertower The Golden lift room (now in shiny blue) The BR tower/Red Roof (now with less BR...) Now, I don't know if my last sentence actually encourages anybody to download and play this map... Then again, Reach doesn't feature any BR's Of course, I've put something of my own in it as well. Something I call pure 'Imapination' (yes, that's a wordcombi). The sword temple Beneath the center platform See that red-ish entrance? You can probably guess what kind of hallway that is! No? I'll give you a hint: Shotgun I think we can agree on the fact that I'm not a great advertiser. We can't be skilled in everything, but we do all have skills right? I can tell you making maps is one of mine, ha! So, what makes this map so outstanding? Smooth flow. Although there're a few corners you'd like to stay with your tent, the overall of the map knows a natural flow. Al most every room has more than 2 ways in/out, which will make you to move around constantly. Jumps. There're severall jumps that will make traversing this map a lot quicker and easier, once you've mastered them. Sightlines. The map looks fairly open, but don't let your eyes deceive you! controlling the 'Red Roof' won't instantly make you master of the map. Classic and Reach. Being born in Halo 3, this map was actually designed for a more classical Halo experience. I've made a few changes since Halo 3 of course, so it plays well with AA's as well! (plays better with classic settings though) Feel. The feel of this map is very similar to Guardian/Blackout. It almost feels a bit nostalgic. A classic experience Now, I haven't really had the chance to playtest this map a lot with more than 2 friends... So, if gametypes feel unbalanced, please let me know. I prefer it to be fixed, so you can enjoy this map to it's full potential. All your opinons (and possible feedback) are most welcome! Untill then: Please enjoy going Skyward! Icy
This map looks a bit like lockout but it looks good a nuff to play I like the room with the red light
Just right off the bat the screenshot spoke out and i swore i saw a bit of Guardian & Blackout right away... then i saw the text saying its a mix. You know you achieved something when people can see right away. Going to download it and check it out.
