I hate how biking has become the new craze in my town... Now I notice too many annoying old people that have picked up biking as some new, revolutionary way to stay in shape. The annoying part is how they feel the need to be in the middle of the street while I drive. Do they own the road? No. Is the newly paved sidewalks (or even anywhere near them) too much of a hassle? No. Is causing traffic really necessary? Don't think so. Should I introduce their toned hamstrings to my bumper? Gets more and more tempting every day.
The middle of the road is the safest place to be as a cyclist, at the sides you are at much higher risk of not being seen and are more likely to be bullied by cars turning/pulling on/off the road. I don't blame them. I don't know about the US, but in the UK it's illegal to cycle on the pavement and for good reason. You're a vehicle, and often a reasonably fast moving one, get on the goddamn road. In fact, as a pedestrian it seriously pisses me off when I see people cycling on the pavement (which is a lot where I live), especially when it's 2 in the morning and there isn't even a single car on the road. Cars are just as guilty of 'creating traffic' so that's a senseless argument, they just don't have that mental prompt of being able to squish them like a bug in your own car, thus the urge doesn't arise. If they're slow, then fine, beep them or whatever, or just try being more patient. But what about when a slow car is in front of you? That's harder to pull round and not even as justifiable since they're not having to propel themselves with their own damn leg muscles, but do you seriously think about ramming them off the road to get them out the way? You may find cyclists frustrating, and I'm not going to stick up for them unconditionally because plenty of them are assholes, just like plenty of drivers are assholes. But the stuff you described shows a pretty significant disregard for their position, and the last part of your post is disappointing at best. Driver attitudes like that are why cyclists have more reason to hate drivers than the other way around.
Peg, you're post was off ****in topic, yo. Vent something, n stuff. Let's keep this argument free So i just came back from eating some delicious Pho, left the waiter a tip because he provided excellent service. At the same time as I was leaving, a whole table of teens were leaving also. Not one ****ing dollar was left as a tip from them. Assholes.
I dislike crap music that prioritizes melody, pop-culture, promiscuity (and money, really) over lyrics and meaning. utilization me thinks of obvious things that are supposed to be trivial, and are made priority for the sake of cash, thrills, and not a whole lot else. D:< So-called "feel good music" is nice every once in a while, but not when big organizations are using it to feed their wallets
When the ****ing driving instructor books an hour time frame, then doesn't show for at least half an hour, and I have to pay the whole session of $25.00, and I can't leave and go to sleep because if he does show up, I would have to pay an additional $30.00.
