Overlook is a tribute to a Gears of War 2 map, Blood Drive. Inspired by one of my good friends who loves GoW2, Blood Drive being his favorite map. Building this map was a bit challenging, but i believe i finally nailed it, adding my own little changes here and there.
[IMG]One of the noticeable changes would be the large pool of water in the middle.
[IMG]This is just a preview, hoping to get a few views and some feed back. This is also my first post here on Forge Hub. Thank you in advanced to all who help!

I'm not usually a guy to cry about framerate on maps I haven't played, but your object density is off the charts in that first screenshot. You may want to consider toning down or flat out replacing those stairs.

Yes, honestly your right. There is a small framerate "problem". But it doesn't interfere with game play at all, i assure you.

Ignore everything else. Eliminating preformance problems is the first priority. It's better to have a playable map than one that looks pretty in pictures. If you have to remove the stairs, it's really not that bad although the biggest problem is probably the lights on all those railings.

That's Exactly what I thought when my friend pointed it out while we were testing it. It is just so little of a problem it wouldn't make any sense to go make any drastic changes to minimize such an insignificant framerate "problem". If you need further convincing, download it and check for yourself. But thank you very much, I'll make sure in future maps i keep framerate in mind.

    What's different about your gametype?

And I will agree with the others, I can see framerate being a problem and even if it's a small problem, you should get rid of it. I can see a lot of places where you could replace problematic objects with others.

I'm downloading it though because it does look very nice and I'd hate to see a nice-looking map go to waste because of framerate problems.

This looks like a very beautiful map and is quite similiar to blood drive itself, I'm not as big of a fan of gears as I am of the halo genre but ive played it quite a bit until reach came out. I can say this is a good remake of one of my favorite maps with some nice changes for reachs game play which I enjoy even in halo remakes. I can honestly understand how you feel about the stairs, as I am one of those who enjoy a bit of beauty in my creations, but even my recent project had to be redone in areas due simply to over use of objects notably stairs similiar to yours. I ended up replacing them with simple ramps and aesthetics instead, I'd be interested in playing this with you for testing GT: SilentRaine as well as helping you reduce the framerate without destroying the beauty :).
