I remember when I first heard that in Leyawiin, I nearly died laughing.

Anyway, on Launch Day, I'm Installing to the Harddrive, then putting 68+ hours in on the first weekend, because I'm picking it up at the midnight release and there's no school for me that day.

 

Same.. me and my buddy are grabbing it and playing it all night. I don't plan on sleeping, and as for meals, they are hardly necessary. And you realize that there are only 72 hours in a three day weekend right? Wait, of course you do :3
Just hoping GameStop is planning on doing a midnight release, however I see no reason not to. Number five on the list (preorder status) is pretty high, but with Call of Duty (which holds the number two spot) coming out literally three days before Skyrim, and you know they are doing a midnight release for CoD, I'm not sure if they'll do two in a row like that. But we'll see. We can only hope. If they don't there's going to be a hella long line Friday morning

 

My gamestop is doing a midnight release, and me and my friends are driving there around 6pm Thursday, because there's a Wendy's like 1/2 a block away.

Sooo... fictional racism is acceptable on a site that disallows non-fictional racism, then? This is a serious loophole that, Im sure, someone will eventually violate.

Do you guys think its worth waiting possibly up to 12 working days after its release to play this game, just because its a helluva lot cheaper to buy it online than it is in shops? Im still mulling it over. I can get it for around $38 online (for PC), but in shops Im anticipating it to be upwards of $80-$90. And on consoles I could get it for about $56 I think, but in shops it would be definitely over $110. Thoughts?

 

If I end up getting this game I'll end up choosing the most tank-like class/race/whatever because I can't be stealthy in a video game. I get too excited and anxious when sneaking up on people and it ends up me startling an enemy watching the person I'm sneaking up on. I wouldn't mind sneaking up on people as a "tank" though. I like to think of it as insurance.

I don't give a **** about Bethesda now that they've sued Mojang. HOW CAN YOU SUE A ****ING INDIE GAME DEVELOPER FOR THE USE OF THE WORD "SCROLLS"? WTF? It might be the most successful Indie Game Developer in the world, BUT STILL!

 

persoanlly, i would pay up and get it right at release, but i dont know your financial situation/desire for the game.

bethesda softworks (publisher) is suing mojang. bethesda game studios (game making team led by todd howerton responsible for oblivion, fallout, and skyrim) is a part of bethesda softworks, but has no direct connection with the lawsuit.

 

First off, it had nothing, and I mean NOTHING to do with the game devs. At all. Seriously.

If the sueing did actually come from within Bethesda, it was from the higher up members of the publishing team. Not the game Devs.

Lastly, I have a strong feeling it has NOTHING to do with either of the Bethesda teams, that it's simply their lawyers acting like retards.

I was on Mojang's side for this issue for a while, but then I realized that Bethesda are actually the good guys in this situation. In fact, Bethesda isn't even to blame, it's Zenimax, and to be pinpoint the blame further, it's Zenimax's lawyers. But lets not look at that right now, because even though Zenimax's lawyers started this, I am totally on their side with the issue, and here's why:

Mojang is looking to trademark the word 'Scrolls.' Now obviously, Zenimax has a trademark on the phrase 'The Elder Scrolls,' and this is where the situation gets sticky. There would be problems for Zenimax if Mojang were to trademark the word 'Scrolls,' and it's not just a matter of confusion. Because Zenimax and Mojang are in the same industry, people might falsely assume that the two companies are affiliated with one another, and Zenimax does not want that at all, which is completely understandable. There could also be more legal problems if Mojang did successfully trademark the word 'Scrolls' if they didn't take up the issue now, because the way trademarks work is if you fail to defend your trademark, it is no longer yours to keep.

This same sort of thing happened a while ago with Apple Corps and Apple Computers, Apple Corps (a music company), and then a larger company, sued Apple Computers for their use of the word 'Apple.' Sound familiar? Because the two companies were in different types of industry, the judge ruled in the favor of Apple Computers. Later Apple Computers released iTunes, and it goes without saying how much that took off.

The point is, Mojang started this by attempting to trademark the word 'Scrolls.' Zenimax is taking a defensive stand against Mojang, and to be clear one final time, Bethesda has nothing to do with the lawsuit at all. Don't blame the developers.

 

Argonians and Kahjhit are the ****. Why wouldn't you want to be an animal type thing i a fantasy game?
