Because I love hearing new songs that aren't main stream. I don't mean that in a hipster way, I mean it in a discovering new bands that aren't in the spotlight that is so contaminated by crap music.
Anybody that actively has "main stream" in their vocabulary cannot claim to not be a hipster or hipster tryhard. Oh and if you are looking for a spotlight without crap, try Classic Rock.
I've come to terms with my entry-level hipsterdom. I listen to pop music but often times I catch myself saying, "Yeah, I've already heard of them" to my friends. Whenever talking about musical tastes, I never say "You've probably never heard of them" though. I always bring up music that I think they'd like. lol.
When I say spot light stouf I mean the kind of songs you here played over and over on the radio (Kesha, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown). Classic rock does not have new music anymore. Why? Because it's ****ing CLASSIC rock.
