Map Idea for "Largest Invasion Game Ever"

    Ok, so i had this idea for an infection gametype, where the "Human" team starts in the southern most part of forge world and works their way to the field above the hanger for extraction. the only problem for that was that i wanted to make it so the players had to stop at designated points on the map for certain things to happen, like a door to open, or blow up a wall, stuff like that. i just couldnt figure out how to make it so you could have a bomb in infection, or how to make walls despawn.

    So at this point i gave up on the idea and moved on, my only problem was that i never messed around with Invasion, so i didnt know that you could make walls despawn after you reached the objective point. so now im changing it up a bit to work with Invasion.
    I used a map overview of Forge world to "Map" out spawns, buildings, player paths, and ect. This will show the complexity of the map, im ganna try to keep it in the budget, so i dont have to cut the game type short.

    Since i do not own reach, this is the best i can do for a "Map Preview", obviously there will be more spawns than i show, an more buildings, i just added the main ones i want to build.

    First area is where the map "Hemmorage" is built at, i dont know the specific area call outs, Players start out in their base, and they get a call about a massive covenant attack headed in their direction, so its time to pack up and move out to the extraction point. only problem is that the vehicles were sent in for repair at out post charlie. so side objective to reach the vehicles. so players will have to hoof it on foot to the second objective in the second building in the valley. there they will find an explosive. Players will have to take this explosive to the next objective point at the cave. at the first entrance players will have to defend them selfs wile the first door opens. after the door opens players move to the end of the cave and the second cave door. only Problem is that the door controls are busted, luckly the players have a bomb, so they plant it and defend it till the door blows. players cross the beach to get to Bravo Base, here the covenant have blocked off the rout to charlie base, so players will have to take the long way around, but there are better weapons in bravo base, so they will open the door to the armory to get the weapons. players then hoof it around the mountain to charlie base, where they will find their warthogs fixed in the shop... which is locked!!! so they find the second bomb in charlie base and blow the door off of the shop, take their worthogs to the Bridge Base, but yet again they have to defend themselfs to extend the bridge to delta base. at delta base the players will find a scorpion that isnt driveable, but can still shoot rounds, and the mechanical controls for opening the hangar. after opening the hangar players will enter to find that there is only one falcon left so the player who enter the falcon fly up top to echo base and lower a bridge for the rest of the players to go up top, and then they wait for extraction.

    There will be two gametypes available for this map, Normal Invasion, and an Invasion gametype were spartans get 1 life, but the elites are weaker than normal, and spartans get a boost.

    since i have never used invasion before, i dont even know if this is possible, there could be a limit on objectives, or maby i cant use bombs and have to change the game story a little. i might even run out of money before i get as far as i want, i dont know but i am ganna attemp to do this the next time i got over to my friend "Rockbloodyrains" house, along with the map "Hexagon". Please Give feed back, or ideas that i could use for this game.

    Would be way too long, and the spartans get one life? People would just rage quit because it would take SUPER long for the round to end. Plus with the budget, gameplay would be very stale.

    In short, no.

    Maybe a CAMPAIGN of invasion maps that let you progress through forge world? Like each mission is standalone, and then you move on to the next.

    I like the idea, but it's too far from regular Invasion to be taken as seriously, you could try to make a large invasion map, but all of forgeworld? That's a little too far-out.

    And in the gametype with one life, you can't change the traits of the different races, only their loadouts.

    And one more thing, stretching your objects into a map that takes all of forgeworld, wont happen. Because the larger it gets, the more vehicles you need, and the less objects you'll have, then you'll have a bad looking map...

    How do you plan to build this if you do not even own reach?
    Even if you did own reach there are too many reasons this won't work to name all of them.

    It can be done, but I suggest going another way about it.

    The map would need to be done very carefully to avoid sheer boredom, and the whole "One life" thing is not only a horrible idea, but I'm pretty sure it isn't possible either, without giving the Elites only one life too.

    As I said, rethinking it might end you up with something that is not only huge, but plays incredible too.

    Thing is, I have absolutely no idea what, because of the sheer size of the map, Budget is sure to be a major problem. Then again, you could attempt to use quite a bit of the map geometry.

    It's quite obvious that OP hasn't even played Reach. If he did, he'd see just how ridiculous most of this is... if not impossible for some of his ideas.

    One thing you might like to know is that someone actually created an "Infection" invasion gametype. Might be kind of cool if you created this map for that gametype. I suppose another thing you could do is use safe havens to motivate players around the map but due to bungie being stupid they will all spawn randomly.

    I like this idea, it would be alot simpler than the grand scale of forge world

    I didnt know that you cant change indivisual race traits, like i said i've never forged an invasion game

    it helps if you read all of the post...

    that was what i was thinking, i know that the map is huge, so it would take alot of peices and money to do, and it would need lots of testing and tweeking even after the finished product to keep the gameplay fresh.

    The idea isnt rediculous, its visionary. and as for not playing reach, im a captain, you can check here. i know alot of ideas may seem rediculous, but wasnt the idea for "forge world" rediculous in its self? most maps dont even use a fraction of what the map has.

    i didnt know someone made an infection invasion gametype, do you have a link for that? and i think with alot of effort i could get the spawning down.

    thanks for the ideas again, ill see what i can do this upcoming week, will probally give out spoilers for other maps im making.

    No... it's frickin' ridiculous. Nobody in their right mind is gonna chase someone else the full span of this map. Invasion is typically 12 players. I'm sure you may be able to tweak a custom game to 16... but even then, this map is way too big for even that. I wouldn't spend a minute of game time just to fly from one end to the other to chase down a kill. You'll bore people to death with too much dead time hunting each other.

    If you had any "vision" in your "visionary" idea... you'd have thought of that.
