4 Version's, I actually like it. Probably the 2nd one the best, it seems more dramatic, but it might be too dark for some. Tell me whatcha think. Original stock: Spoiler _
Well, the biggest thing would be the severe lack of blending. Other than that, I like some of the effects. Needs more depth as well.
Hahah that's funny. I posted this on gfx site, and they said the exact opposite. They said good depth. But lighting was deff off ( I agree, it's bad. ) and some of the effects were random. ( the bubble C4D's) Hahah
I've learned that responses/critiques vary widely depending on where you post. So make a single sig to post on twelve different sites, and you will get 24 different good parts with the exact same 24 bad parts in all.
Why? What's wrong with using several? Is this like a cult or something? "You cannot visit other sites and use their input aswell, or you shall be cast out!" ? lmao. Relax, bro. That's the CnC I got from the other site. Seems like the opposite, eh? Seems like it wouldn't be such a big deal to point out how it is opposite, eh? And I used his advice to make a new version. I mean, if you're right over what he said, go into detail. Provide examples. Tell me what I should do different. That's what will make me better.. I'm not trying to be in some internet flame war. I'm trying to make a forum signature, which is most definitely not worth getting upset about. EDIT: And here's those new versions. Feel free to CnC them or the top ones, I have psds for both. ^little more dramatic lighting (just barely, I suppose, but I like it, it seems to fit his expression better, imo.
I don't like how his leg kinda abruptly ends in the new version. i think it needs a little more contrast. Also, maybe try wrapping the light swirl around his out stretched arm. Should make it look a little better.
In 2010 I was on about 7 GFX sites ( Which I go on here and there now ), which I would post work for, for cnc, and to also be apart of the community there while being here. Nothing Wrong it, I enjoy it alot . Just going to cnc the v2. The blending on the leg should be be less smudged actually. More that it seems to form into the cloud rather then just disappear. A way to make it seem abit more nicer is to maybe add cloud residue ( If that makes sense? ) around his legs and off his body. The effects C4D on the first one might look nice in v2 but it needs to be on a lower opacity or atleast blend alittle better into the cloud. The effects on the person I like however the one that used to be near his leg ( not that it's gone ), make the area look very empty. The rest of the effect there look very nice and clean. Flow is good, and the lighting look ALOT better then it did in V1 atleast. Maybe make the farthest corners abit more darker but other then that it's good. Hope that helped.
I agree. I tried to that swirl thing with like a fractal on linear dodge, but i couldn't find one that worked well. I'm going to have to download some more fractal packs and try again then, that does seem like a good idea. EDIT: I just realized I completely misread that second part.. I had tried to add the fractal to his arm with the mic (I thought it would compliment the light reflecting off his jacket on that side, but it just didn't work out.) . I think the light swirl you are talking about is something like this, which i find to be very novice.. (no offense, I just think they're are many types of efx that look tons better. ) I think I understand what you're saying. I noticed the abruptness about the leg later that day ( Took some time off to get a second prospective of it ). It can be easily reversed back to not smudged on his leg (I smudged his leg on a different layer, for that exact reason). When you say cloud residue, do you mean adding like cloud stocks on lighten or something? And I'll try that about the effect C4D's, I didn't delete them, just hid the layers haha. With the newest version, my main focus was the lighting haha. Appreciate it.
