HAI GUYYYYYSSSS... so this map is my attempt at trying to build a smallish map, ideal for a 1v1 or a pacey 2v2 match with a (hopefully) cool architectural theme... i decided to use tempest for some unknown reason, but i managed to squeeze everything within the budget, if you dont have tempest, then bawwwwww because you'll be missing out on my best map yet... which might not mean alot in fairness. Anyway words are boring, so picture time.....

If you've played quake 3 you may recognise this ;)

I would say make this in Forge World, as it doesnt seem to use anything important that Tempest gives. Everyone has Forge World so there will be no issues with DLC. Other than that I love your diamond doorways. Makes me think Halo CE.

ahh yes this map. I remember doing fairly well on this map, can't say the same for my partner lol. Anyways, I thought this map really had an interesting feel to it. Honestly, it really reminded me of Halo CE, which is a good thing. I loved that you used platform XXL for walls, you don't see that often. Yet, I would say the most unique contribution to this map would have to be the hallways that you constructed. When I first saw them I was in awe lol, in fact I think I died more than once just because I was looking at them so much. I would say the only real problem I had this map would have to be the hallways. I personally like wiggle room, so I felt very claustrophobic going through them, also because they were so narrow it made grenade spam very easy/effective. One last thing and then I am done. In my opinion I think you should advertise this as a 2v2 map, I have only played 2v2 on it, but I feel that a 1v1 on this map would be very slow paced. Anyways, awesome freaking map man and I can't wait to see the finished version!

I would, but it would take so long :( i just started building, and it took shape and i thought to myself, its too late to start again... i may well end up building it on forgeworld though, if enough people ask, and if it actually plays well enough to justify me making it again... Im glad you like the doors :)

Well, I hate to post again because it almost feels like a bump, but because you said if enough people ask then you will move it then I thought I would also say that I think it should be moved. Tempest maps seem to never get the attention that they deserve, if you move it then you are making the DL available to many more people. I know it is a lot of work, but I am sure that in the end it will pay off. Also, if you built on tempest to improve framerate, you could always try building in the skybox on forge world.

Theres two votes ha, well i am considering it, even if its just for the fact that some objects on tempest have been lit oddly. I quite like the width of the hallways, i'll put the map in the testers guild as it is and see if they feel it would benifit from wider corridors, and if they do i can update that in the forgeworld version..... wheres is this skybox i've heard so much about?

I also believe you should move the map over to Forgeworld so that more people can download and play on your map. As for the map you already know how much I like it. In regards of making the hallways wider, I think you should. Just slightly though because avoiding grenade spam in a hallways is nearly impossible unless it is wide enough for a tank. Though you have done a nice job in nerfing this by having no frag grenades on the map (if there are please enlighten me). Overall though gameplay on this map is enjoyable and the aesthetics are top notch.

I guess you have to release it :D
My parentzz are in holidays and I got 1-4 friends over here all the time.
    2 TV's and 2 Xbox's + 15 meter Cable = Instant Random Lan^^

I'm really looking for some small maps designed for fast paced action <3
Splitscreen also means more Lag -.-* thurfore -> small maps = better obviously lol
and i'm not high or something rofl xD

The pictures look nice, Layout seems good (at least I hope so).

give the dl-link and I can test ;)

Well that does it, its happened, i'm currently about 50 % complete rebuilding the entire map from sratch on forgeworld, its a pain, but i'm kind of happy to have a map where all of the onjects are lit consistantly :) (thank you moth for the skybox) i'll post some screenshots in the original post is a few hours... hopefully...

So does this mean you are making the hallways just a tiny bit larger? like the width of two units? Because I know you can do it, I just went through your map in forge not to long ago, and saw that you used either 2x3 or 2x4 for the floor in the hallways lol!

I will try, the difficulty is that even though i have enough floor space, when i make the hallway wider the collisium walls have to be moved slightly and they stick out some of the geometry in other parts of the map, trust me i'll find a way round to give you those two extra units :p
