"The fat guy has been quarantined inside this corporate tower, but it will not hold him forever."

Most of the people here who have played mini-games on Halo 3 have memories of a certain Fat Kid gametype. While there were many maps and gametypes with varying rules, the core concept was the same. Players are given limited weapons to defend themselves from a very slow (but tough) zombie. This basic concept evolved into a phenomenon that took Custom Games by storm. About one in every thirty people had a Fat Kid variant in their list of maps. But why the history lesson, you ask? I'll tell you. It's because I've taken the Fat Kid concept and morphed it into a beautiful map and a balanced gametype.

The map, staying true to the spirit of Fat Kid, is composed of two parts: a "lobby" where the players spawn and exchange initial blows, and then a large winding staircase. The lobby contains basic armaments, and farther up, in the upper floors, are more powerful weapons. The gametype is also faithful to the originals' vision, but takes it one step farther. Like most variants, those killed by the Fat Guy join his team as quicker, weaker counterparts to the Fat Guy. Armor Abilities play a small role, with normal players able to choose between Sprint, Evade, and Hologram. The players spawn with a pistol and collect weapons along the way.

This is the Lobby in which both sides spawn. On the bench to the left is a Shotgun, on the bench to the right there is a DMR, and a Plasma Repeater is leaning on the table in the middle. Also in this room is a mounted Machine Gun that can oversee the whole area. To the right (though not in this image) is the staircase that leads to the upper levels. Also invisible is a health kit on the far left. The health kits can be used by either side, with disastrous results if used by the Fat Guy.

Here is the Second Floor of the complex. It's a cramped hallway with a Grenade Launcher sitting on a bench. Also on the bench are two Fragmentation Grenades.

The Third Floor is about as barren as the second. The only weapons here are a Focus Rifle and some Plasma Grenades. However, unlike the Second Floor, this one contains another health pack that can be used by either side.

The Fourth Floor is the end of the line, the last bastion of the survivors against the growing problem of obesity. To help stem the tide in the desperate last minutes of the game, there is a delayed-spawn Consussion Rifle, as well as a Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle.

This map, while not original in its concept, is meant to bring a balance to the Fat Kid gamemode that was never seen before. Gone are the days of escapable maps, eternally one-shot Fat Kid minions, and turrets on the top floor. This map (and its gametype) have been made with love, and tweaked to near perfection in order to create the best Fat Kid experience possible.

God, I don't understand the concept of Fat Kid so I automatically don't like it that much. The forging you did looks very well made from the pictures however.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't either for a long time. I would always join friends' games and get so mad when I was a zombie. I hated Fat Kid a lot, and I didn't bother to download any for Reach. When my friends pestered me for a Fat Kid-esque map, I decided to make my own. Granted, it isn't great, but I tried my best to make it fair and fun for both the humans and zombies alike.

Thank you. The original fat kid gametypes for reach pretty much makes the zombie destroy everyone and the humans just have to walk around at 1 inch per hour waiting for their demise.

I must warn you, there is a lot of "1 Inch-per-hour" in this gametype. Gameplay is slow until someone dies and becomes a zombie. I don't want to convince you to play a gametype you don't want to. If you don't like moving 1 inch-per-hour, then you'd probably be more interested in one of the many other maps on this site.

Define what you mean by "these types of Fat Kid". What would you like to see in a map of this nature?

What I mean is the. Straight fat guy maps. I dislike those. All they are are basically a slow person coming and eventually getting to the top of the map and killing everyone.... There is nothing else. But I really enjoy Fat kid maps like Ultimate Journey, fat kids with obstacles while the fat kid is coming. I created my own version of one of these maps too. There's a link in my sig. I tend to find those more enjoyable. Maybe you could create one in the future. :)

I really disliked the fat kid maps, however the forging on this map look excellent! I'm guessing it all just leads to a dead end? Kudos.

Yep, that's the general idea of Fat Guy. Because it's such a simple concept, I was able to make the map as thematic and beautiful as possible.

The only kind of Fat Kid variant I've ever liked is the kind that accompanies maps like Five Chambers.

This map has received 2,400 downloads so far. I'm not sure how, and I'm not sure why. But thanks to everyone that downloaded it!
