Right! Just be patient and don't get your hopes up for anything spectacular and you won't be disappointed.
Foundry... Sandbox? Both DLC... most maps ever made on those two maps. Also, on topic, this hasn't really done anything for me. Sure it's confirmation 343 aren't completely disregarding forge (as they shouldn't... at all.) but the worst part about this is I'm guessing that picture is from in-game and the pelican's thrusters are blue. Call me picky, but in all the games the thrusters for human vehicles are orange/red/yellow, basically, a fire colour. Covenant and gravity lifts etc... have blue glows so I don't understand why there's this change. I don't know whether they failed to notice that specific detail in the vehicle design (and if they did, that drops the standards down for me already because it leaves me thinking "what else did they miss or forget?") or whether they just figured it'd look cooler with a blue glow. Edit: Saying that... there are a lot of user created concept drawings with "blue" glows coming off them... I guess the colour of the thrusters changed when accellerating.
LOL if your trying to stop a mass of complainers crying when they don't get what they want later trust me it's a lost cause
Haha ya I know. People would complain even if they gave us a brand new forge with all new pieces. I was basically reiterating the point that people should just be patient and not be getting all worked up now while we know little to nothing about the situation.
At this point, they only confirmed that the maps will be more forge friendly. I don't care, I wanted UNSC, Civilian, and Covenant based items, not telling me that I can forge on blood gulch. [br][/br]Edited by merge: When fire gets really hot it turns blue. Prolly what you seen there.
they could always surprise us with a new mini-forgeworld of some kind. wouldnt it be exciting if one of the larger maps just happened to double as a new forgebox for us? edit- also, everything in Halo is powered by Blue Magic. you know this.
Very different situation. Reach came with a great sandbox (lowercase "s") for forging built in; we didn't require DLC to establish a forge community, so the community that already existed just reorganized itself around Forge World. When Foundry came along, there really wasn't a forge community; the mere existence of that DLC turned forging into a serious pursuit, and so all the people who were into forging all had the map, because what else were they seriously going to forge on? Sandbox was nearly as popular because it was such an expansion of possibilities. But now we already have what is likely to be the best forge tool Reach will provide. The only DLC I could see really expanding the way people forge would be a next level type of thing, the way Sandbox was in comparison to Foundry, and the way Foundry was in comparison to... whatever came with 3 (i.e. close to nada). But Bungie and now 343 have shown no inclination toward giving us "a new Forge World" or any kind of forge upgrade. Tempest was like Forge World Jr. and in the forging community, it died with a whimper. If they release some maps with anniversary that have a small forgeable skybox and some different objects, even if they're as forge-friendly as Tempest or more so, I don't see this having any big impact on forging as a whole. I see it going down exactly like Tempest did. A few maps will be made, little more.
Honestly I could care less if they gave us a new forgeworld or something smaller to forge on. Because like ND said it will die like Tempest. The only thing that would make me really happy would be like an "expansion pack" of pieces to use on forgeworld. But like I stated previously, I'm not getting my expectations to high about anything just yet. And neither should anyone else or you may be setting yourself up for a huge disappointment.
Honestly I see this as just another Tempest. Now 343 always has something up their sleeve, so one of these maps could possible be Forge World's younger, cooler brother. This could, as always, have huge potential. Lets just not get our hopes up alright guys?
well...something they could do is make a separate disc as an expansion for forging and that's all it is...like they did with halo3 multiplayer that would be considered a win in my books.
