I'm fairly certain he said that they are new mobs not npc's. That solves your predicament, also, I don't think any vision inhibition while near them would be good.
back to endermen...... yes mocha i saw your ship......... but anyone notice the tree?????? it looks like a new color!!!!!!! plus there are two holding blocks one sand and one dirt...... both may i say are jacking my supplies man.... i could have like made a bit of glass and planted something with that mannnnnnn.......... tree....... light tree....... new treeee.............
Notch should make it so when you cut down one of the new Giant Mushrooms it'll drop a 'special mushroom' and when you eat it, you go to the sky demension.
This is just badass (spoiler alert): Spoiler I wanted something a bit more psychological. So to really drive home the point of looking at them being bad, I made the Endermen freeze and turn towards you when you look at them. As long as you look straight at them, they stand perfectly still and look straight at you. As soon as you look away, they will run (very fast) towards you... ...When they attack, you know it’s your fault. When you happen to look at one, you can keep looking at it to figure out how to deal with it, but you know it WILL reach you very fast once you stop looking at it. And that, my friends, is creepy. Possibly too creepy.
Yeah, it really is. The whole article is here, and it definitely contains spoilers about 1.8. [ link ]
i'm scared........ I will possibly never play minecraft between the hours of 9pm and 6am 2minutes later edit... yes just like that cookies.......... scary as hell (poor boo forced to look at cookies face)
About that endermen stuff, that's ****ing creepy. That's just tripled creepiness of Minecraft, and it already creeped me out. Anywho, as you may know by now, I have an insanely slow laptop. My Minecraft usually gets an FPS of about 3-6 fps. It sucks ass. Anyway, I was pretty sick of it. Like, seriously. Now, I didn't think it'd work, but I just googled "Minecraft mod, reduce lag". What I got was something wondrous. It's known as Optimime or Optifog. Pretty much, it lets you disable lots of stuff and also helps you gain FPS. My FPS jumped from an average of 5 to an average of 30. Link in case of interest: [1.7.3] OptiFog and Optimine HD_E (FPS Boost) - Minecraft Forum
Optifog/Optimine doesn't really boost your fps, just gets rid of unnecessary things that are fps-costly. All unloaded chunks are filled in with fog.
ah, then it probably wont help me much, I don't really need any better performance, its not any kind of debilitating fps with those texture packs, just a little lower than what I'd ideally want.
