Here is a list of instructions that will get you any size of lobby you want: 1. Start up a lobby 2. Send an M2AF informing your friends of your lobby and your wish for them to join 3. Wait for 6 minutes for someone to join 4. Ask everyone to invite all of their friends 5. Ask their friends to invite all their friends 6. Repeat until 10 minutes have passes or you have enough players 7. If 10 minutes have passed and you still don't have enough players, take the party into BTB matchmaking 8. Play 1 game 9. Go back into the custom lobby 10. Invite all of the people from that game 11. Wait for enough people to join 12. If you still don't have enough players but the game might cope fine (10 players on a BTB map), then start the game
i start a game of living dead (living dead players are more likley to play custom games compared to btb), back out when 3/4s of the players have joined, repeat a few times then let it run and play 1 game, after that 1 game i back out into the custom lobby, invite all the people from the game just played then start the game, when the game starts i repeat the invites but send them to to not only the last game players but the 3/4 i backed out on. normaly gets me a good 6to10 players
This sounds like a really long drawn out process. All I do is send a message to the people in my recent match, wait like 2 minutes, and play another match if nobody joins. Its almost what your saying to do but it is a little easier.
how is that quicker? to have a recent history means you have been playing all day, in this case how do you get a custom game when you have just turned your xbox on for the day, modifide a map and want it played on. I have found the best way to get some great customs going is to have a weekly game night. Be consistent and be a good host with a variety of games and maps ready and you will gain a following of dedicated players. Having it at a regular time and day of the week allows people to schedule for it. I do mine on Monday night because Mondays kinda suck and people like having something to look forward to on Mondays. I also made a facebook group called "Monday Night Game Night" and added anyone that plays Halo to the group. I post an event every week so it reminds them about it. Also with the event option people can RSVP, so I can get an idea if I will have a good turn out. I know that if you just up and have a notion to play customs one evening this will not work, but I am too busy to play much during the week anyway, so this works best for me. I hope this helps. Have fun!
If we sat in a customs lobby for ten minutes, I would definitely leave because I would be bored as ****
I can get a full lobby in under 30 seconds, four out of five times. And, since I've been hosting lobbies for a couple of years, I can tell you from personal experience that your method isn't necessarily the best. It can work, but it's not really a guarantee.
This. The key is to not make people wait. If they get impatient, they leave. I usually invite my friends list and then invite my recents and friends of friends. It doesn't always work, but sometimes I get some big games going.
