Good work on the map. If you make a version 2 I would just recomend that you clean up some of the barricade walls. Its just alittle loose and you can escape out through it but Its not a big deal the map works fine any how good job. 5/5 for orriginality and for pulling off a good map on isolation.
ok..... for anyone who has looked at this map and hasnt at least giving it a dl then you should be depressed becase this map kicks ass and you should play it till you die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/5
Review Hub Review: By Iv0rY Snak3 Enjoyment: 9/10 Harvest is a great map for conquest, everything is set out fairly, but so that there is a real struggle to control all of the territories, the weapons placed allow for some pretty random happenings, that you can laugh about in the post-game lobby Balance: 9/10 It is a conquest map, so it has to be balanced, the only reason it lost marks is because of grenade placement. G043R set it out so that grenades fall from the pustules on the roof, but since the placement of these pustules is uneven, so is the placement of the grenades. it is a very minor problem though. Durability: 6/10 The main flaw in the map is it's escapability. because there are no immovable objects on isolation, it is extremely difficult to block off the map effectively. G043R has done a good job, but there is a small window between when you knock down the barriers and when they respawn in which you can escape. although escaping is useless, it is not much fun when you have someone screaming in your ear asking how to get back in. the spawning system works fine, you can be in your enemies base, and the spawning system will still work fine. Aesthetics: 7/10 Being isolation, it is very hard to add scenery that fits in with the theme of the map, but he did well with what he was given. Originality: 8/10 Isolation is very rarely forged on, so combining a new gametype (conquest) with an old map, in a way that is both fair and enjoyable is quite an achievement. Overall Score: 8/10 Harvest is great to play on if you have a decent party, with members who won't attempt to escape the map. the location makes for a new experience, whilst still keeping the gameplay standards of conquest as pure as possible.
If you understood the concept of Conquest, getting out is not an option. Nice job, G043R; I didn't realize you put this out (stupid night school). I really like how you chose a difficult setting for Conquest, Isolation is one of my favorite maps. Maybe we can play some games on here soon at the GoO afterparty.
EW Iso! haha jk. i hate this map. but this looks fantastic... i solation had the koolest look to it but everytime i played it ihated it... now maybe things will change. good job for at least impressing all the top modders.
I agree with the review point system... I just wonder how you can compare a Foundry map to one of the old maps... to Durability... I think its just that I got a 6 here... The map has that ever so possible get out... but I really compare it to some of the bungie breaks in maps... as well... What is much of the point of getting out?... it doesn't help you at all..and leaves a player hind side... So Its my worst score..but wonder if its the same thing as Snowbound with the turret walls... you can get out the map..but your kinda screwed if you do...
all good poiunts, as we discussed in customs the other day, sooo: Review Hub Review: By Iv0rY Snak3 Enjoyment: 9/10 Harvest is a great map for conquest, everything is set out fairly, but so that there is a real struggle to control all of the territories, the weapons placed allow for some pretty random happenings, that you can laugh about in the post-game lobby Balance: 9/10 It is a conquest map, so it has to be balanced, the only reason it lost marks is because of grenade placement. Thanks for the re score I think older maps really need the thought that they are harder to build and such....
I have to admit, when I first saw the walls I thought "That's a shame", because the map looked brilliant and the weapon layout fair etc, but the walls were (through no clear fault of G043R, old maps suck) sub-par. But when I went into forge (just to see if I could do better wall-wise, I like to think of myself as quite good with forge, if lacking innovation) I found that considering the tools available to him, he's done a bloody brilliant job. My attempt has so far yielded rather obscene results, and some minor map-breaking lag/respawn issues. So well done for getting them as good as you did mate! And well done for the whole map at that. Your map was one of the ones that made me decide to try Conquest again (Bad experience with a LAN game and participants who can only play Slayer).
