Delta facility

    DELTA FACILITY

    This is one of the many training outposts for the UNSC. Spartan recruits are subject to training and their abilities tested.

    Delta Facility is a BTB map designed with the Warthogs in mind. The Warthogs are once again dominate on the battlefield as they pursue each other throughout the field and through the bases.

    I have designed the bases in such a way, so the Warthogs can chase each other through them. This is not only fun, but it causes great excitement for infantry and they drive under the infantry occupying the catwalks and platforms.

    The map is located in the Hemorrhage canyon near the beach. The layout is a "U" shape utilizing the small cave passage. (think Avalanche style from Halo 3, just not as extravagant)

    There is a neutral structure against the canyon wall opposite of the cave passage, which houses a neutral Falcon. This neutral structure also gives access to the bridge protruding from the cave side. Atop the bridge is the Spartan Laser.

    Vehicles:

    4 Warthogs total, 2 for each base, located in the garage.
    2 Mongooses total, 1 for each base, located in the garage.
    1 Neutral Falcon, located in the neutral center structure.

    Weapons:

    Basic:

    DMRs, Needle Rifles, Needlers, Plasma ans UNSC grenades, Assault Rifles, Plasma Repeaters, Shotguns, pistols, and plasma pistols.

    Power:
    -Concussion Rifle, located in the cave passage
    -Rocket Launcher, located below the bridge on the front foot
    -2 Grenade Launchers, one in each base across the catwalks heading
    toward the teleporter entrance.
    -2 Sniper Rifles, located below the cave passage on each side. Left of
    Red Base and Right of Blue Base.
    -1 Spartan Laser, located atop of the bridge.

    I want to thank everyone who has given me advice to improve and make what DELTA FACILITY is today. Bilzo4, Crysis Hero, Mythic Fritz, SitriStahl and to all the players who helped me test it.

    This map looks very well layed out especially for warthog battles. I cant wait to try this. The only thing that might be bad about it is that you made it possible for the warthogs to go through the bunkers. Because of that one team might get the advantage and controll the bases. Thats just my thought but it still looks like a good map.

    While building the map, that exact thought had crossed my mind. After many play throughs, I haven't really seen or experienced that yet. Usually what happens, is they just keep driving, but every game is different.

    Looks great, but one thing though........ you might wanna make sure that every place has more than one entrance. Judging from the pictures, looks pretty fun. Overall, great big team battle map. Remember keep on forgin' :3

    wow this is great :D it reminds me of the builtin in map Paridiso , but smaller and more compact

    Great balance between asethetics and gameplay. I love vehical maps which also means that I despise the spartan laser, alot. I'd replace it with the plasma launcher, that way there won't be any instant tripple kills from across the map. I also agree with Blade on the whole driving the warthog straight into the enemys spawn. I personally never encountered a problem with that but I can see someone getting super frustrated with being splatered right out of spawn.

    your not always spawning inside the base. From the play tests if the enemy is inside, the game will not spawn you near those threatened spawns. I also have respawns outside the structure as well. By doing this, I kept in mind that the team who's flag was stolen, needs to intercept it as well.

    I also have put the spans out of the way inside the bases. The grav lift and the crate that face each other under the flag position keep the drivers for the most part in the center.

    I know the spawning in Reach isn't perfect, but what I've seen with this map, it has worked pretty well.

    I always ask for harsh feedback after play throughs and spawning is always the first one I ask about. So far, (crossing fingers) no one has made any comments about spawning.

    If you play it, let me know if there are problems.

    Glad to see this posted. Bilzos trailer does a great job of showcasing the map. Ive played a big team CTF on this with you guys a while back. I don't know if you've tweaked anything since then. But from what I remember it was a great map. The bases are well designed, The map is well balanced and great for worthog battles without them being over powered. The gameplay is reminiscent of avalanche while still being unique. Great Job!

    I'm actually really, really excited to check this out, which I haven't been able to say in well over a year. Hell, I may even turn the ol HaloBox on today and check it out. ****, I may even actually PLAY some matches today on this (which I haven't done in months). You've done well to make this look like a true disc-shipped map. Great job. I'll hopefully find some time to return and comment more on this after I'd had some more intimate time with her (giggity).

    That is the most promising map trailer that I have ever seen, and this map seems really promising too! I love the large amount of bases, and how this map suits all players specialties. The best thing I've seen on Forgehub in a while, actually!

    Great Trailer. The map reminds me of one of the Halo 3 Campaign Missions. Looks very promising. I'll give it a download & play if I can get some people to join. I could see race added in but still. You managed to pull of almost all of the gametypes in a BTB map. That good sir deserves download.

    P.S The trailer is AWESOME!

    Thank you for finally making a map that doesn't follow the same trend that every single competitive map follows. This is wonderful. I haven't commented on a map in over a year, largely due to the fact that all the competitive maps play and act similarly. This looks awesome, and is a step back, away from all of the standard issue forgehub maps. Seriously, thank you.

    Man when i joined forgehub i did like only see maps who lookt realy nice!
    But now man i can finaly se a map that looks both fun and cool good jobb there cant w8 4 more of your maps!

    My experience takes me more and more to using only Respawn Zones to divide the map between red and blue, then let the engine figure out where to spawn based upon game dynamics. I tend to believe more than before that weak and anti zones should not be used in most maps. However, I would still use anti zones for those cases where spawning out in the open is threatened by falcons, banshees, warthogs, or scorpions; and even then I would prefer to simply keep them from not being in the open per se, rather than using an anti zone.

    Oh, and nice trailer. I like especially the crashing cymbal when the guy eats it!

    Ill have to say this looks like an epic BTB map. I really think this should be in matchmaking. The base design is sick! The rock cave in the middle is sick. Beast map.

    WOW, great job forging this. I know how hard it is to forge BTB maps. It takes a whole different mindset for forging. I tried once to forge a BTB map and I ran out of budget in the first few seconds. How people are able to conserve enough budget for BTB maps stuns me. Great Job on the map and the layout too. I love how you have multiple levels inside the bases, and how they are not flat. Too many BTB maps have flat bases, and that just gets boring to see. The only thing that I see that might be problematic is the teleporter. It looks like you only have one way to that platform, and that is to take that platform. I would suggest making an alternate route up there. Maybe you could have a path leading down the mountain. Overall though this map looks great. Remember to keep forging.

    Like said before me; great aesthetics and gameplau, but i think the spartan lazer should be removed, also please give us a list on how much ammo the weapons have.

    I'm very excited for when my download finishes because this looks great! The bases remind me of Breakpoint (my favorite reach map). The trailer was very well done featuring some quite epic gameplay.
