"To this day, The Kent Levee still hums with the commerce that has shaped its 150-year history."

First and foremost, Kent's Levee is not actually a levee; it is a waterway. The structures that would have a practical purpose in making it a levee were removed. Why? Because these structures proved detrimental to gameplay. Anyways, Kent's Levee is an asymmetrical team map that bridges the gap between the Coastline and the Island. The map is designed to that most of the combat takes place when the two opposite sides of the map fire on each other.

Kent's Levee an open-air map to almost the full extent of the term. There are only a few buildings, and everywhere else is a long-range battleground. The aforementioned two sides have four ways to reach each other. There are two bridges in the center of the map, a dock that requires some platforming, and a couple of cleverly hidden teleporters (the teleporters do not work in team objective games). Here's the pictures of this map:

This is the base complex of the Coastline side of the map. Known in shorthand as Sandy Base, this side of the map is where the objectives and starting spawns for Blue team are. The Sandy Walkway, the lower area, has ramps that lead up to the Control Room (left building) and the Observation Room (right building). Between the two buildings is a ledge with a Sniper Rifle. Behind the barricades there are grenades and a DMR. The tunnel in the center of the image houses the Sandy Base's teleporter.

This is the Island half of the map, the Rocky Base, that acts as the base of the Red team. The layout is somewhat similar to the Sandy Base, with a lower Rocky Walkway, a teleporter, and barricades. Another similarity is a ledge that has on it a Sniper Rifle. Unlike the other side, the Rocky Base has one building as large as the two opposing buildings put together. Inside that building, which is known as the Lounge, is a Plasma Rifle.

The boring backside of the Rocky Base. The Island's terrain forms a nice slope leading down to the Rocky Base's side of the Dock. This area contains no weaponry but provides a valuable flanking route. Also, most of the Red team's objectives are in this area.

Here is what lies behind the Sandy Base. Again, there is not much here except for the team's objectives. And just like on the other side, it makes a good flanking route.

This is the Dock, as seen from the Rocky side. on the Rocky side, a bridge of rocks with a Needler on it connects this area to the rest of the map. On the Sandy side, there is an obnoxiously large pillar that provides cover to players shooting at enemies on the other side. On the sailboat (which requires a good jump to get to) is a Rocket Launcher.

Here is the middle area, with two bridges and a large rock. On one bridge there is a Plasma Launcher (probably useless considering a lack of vehicles) and on the other there is a Focus Rifle.

I think this map is a good start. I would reccomend puting some scenery into the middle area. I think it would both look good and create better spacing for fighting. Maybe put crates on the lower walkways infront of both bases. You could also create a big structure in the middle to help random DMR fire across the map. Depends if you want "straight-line DMR fire" or not.

That's a good idea. I myself was considering adding a kind of center cover-piece, but I felt that it took away from the Sniper duels that tended to occur on this map. Plus, on early versions with such a structure, there would always be people that jetpacked on top of it.

My map has just been updated. There is now a large rock in the center of the map between the two bridges. The size has been calibrated so that snipers are blocked from shooting people on either side's walkway, and two sides on the walkways can use it for cover. It does not, however, impede the sniper duels that take place from balcony to balcony.
