Since Halo: CE Anniversary is a strict remake of Halo: CE, what do you want to see in the upcoming Halo 4?, be it new weapons, vehicles, returning weapons/vehicles in previous Halos, different styles of forging and new maps to forge on, (snow, water, air, jungle, etc,) and stuff like that. I know I want to see the return of the DMR, Needle Rifle, etc, but with Triple Fire/Full Auto capabilities, 32/48 player multiplayer (I know it's possible, 343). I also want more Forge Worlds, like Snow Forge World, Desert Forge World, Jungle Forge World, etc. Also, I would like Dedicated Servers for matchmaking, and I will try to explain this to the best of my ability, but I want a game room list in Customs that lets you search up games and join them freely. I think it will make Customs and Testing more efficient. You can search specifics, or do a random search. Finally, I want free Youtube uploading, and an editor that lets you do upload voice, like people talking to make Commentaries or Machinima alot easier. But enough of my pickyness, I want to hear your ideas!

old security helmet. marathon symbol back. return of some brute vehicles/weapons. if there's firefight, a map with a REGULAR warthog. Forge tools equal to reach, or a little better. A world thats half forgeworld half sandbox, with no water, for epic size invasion games. actual battlefield size. EDIT: elephant back maybe with some forge options (options to have the back open, or closed, front open, or closed, etc). obviously the ability to place them some type of human equivalent to the banshee- not something that hovers like a heli, but an actual single seat UNMC fighter jet. Something like a mini sabre? i don't know, but that needs to be done. forgeable pelicans, covenant dropships, scarabs for invasion gametypes. Matchmaking with a max player count of 24. Ability to place a greater variety of warthogs with more tools for it. so you would go to vehicles/human/warthog/options, and it would just have the list of m-12 slash this or that, with a short description. turret, rocket, gaus, civilian, transport. flamethrower type perhaps if there is a flood mission. and yes, as pyro says.... firefight forge. forge options like windows paint. copy, paste, repeat, undo, redo, etc. for instance, ability to place a wall as a floor piece, press repeat this many types, choose the dimensions x wall pieces times y wall pieces... voila, perfectly level floor, wall, ceiling, etc a combination of halo 3 and reach's armor systems. about 25-40% achievement based armor, the rest purchasable with some type of credits.
A similar ranking system, and the option to purchase helmets, armor, and the like (similar to Halo : Reach). Greater Forge Tools, and the option to use 'Reach Controls'.
16 players is standard. If we had dedicated servers, Halo could surely handle at least 64 players at a time. It would also help alot in things like large invasions or machinima.
Like I said, we don't want full on wars in halo. This isn't Halo Wars it's Halo 4. I think most of us want exactly what Stevo said, we want classic halo back. Making 32v32 matches would be ridiculous for Halo. Trust me, it's not gonna happen.
We can return the old, but can't we bring something new to the table? We have separate playlists, so we can have full on wars as well as the classic halo elements.

The classic Halo feel. Larger maps along with 4v4 symmetrical ones. Better ranking, still keeping the armory. New forging stuff.
Well the people that like the old stuff can play the old stuff and the people that like the new stuff can play the new stuff.
This plus the firefight forge. They should give us something along the lines of the tools Bungie used to make gametypes (I don't remember the name of it, they said it once in a BWU.) But it should be able to be simple at the same time, for n00bs who want to make a 'paintball' map and gametype for their friends. Also, a larger armory selection. Everyone looks almost identical. Maybe the ability to put more than two colors on your armor as well. Also, side note from OP; the needle rifle is fully automatic albeit slow. Personally, I like the reticle bloom, I win more with it. I also like armor abilities because they keep the gameplay more random but not out of control chaotic. I did however like the land mine from Halo 3 too. Dual wielding, I don't have an opinion about. I like it without but I never used it when it was there so no preference. SMG. Must. Return.
I forgot to add Firefight Forge. I think adding our own Firefight maps is long overdue. They should give us tools similar to Far Cry 2's map editor, with the option to raise and lower the land. More machinima tools should also be in order, such as an easier way to lower your gun and not only allowing the host to do it. I think people should be able to lower weapons in custom games or forge ONLY. Not matchmaking or firefight or anything else. Duel Wielding must return for more weapons, such as the Needler. My favorite weapon loadout was duel wielding SMGs. They are WIN.
