A friend of mine, Cheathound23, made a puzzle map on Blackout. It was a little rough around the edges but it had potential. So, with his blessing, I went about fixing some breaks, tweaking a few puzzles and adding one of my own. What we have ended up with is a nice little traditional puzzle map that I hope you enjoy. Goal: Retrieve the bomb and then arm it, on your own! This is a more traditional puzzle map than my usual affairs, you will not see any crazy new ideas in it that no one can solve, you won't even see existing "new" ideas that I have used in the past. This uses more basic ideas that are used in most puzzle maps, yet it retains a good sense of quality and style not seen in most puzzle maps that most people are used to seeing in my maps. On a plus side, there is no turret clipping through walls! (Another reason I felt the original map had potential) Pictures: Room 1 - Can you tele me which way to go please? Room 2 - I know you're thinking "wtf is that on the right", actually it's a clue. Room 3 - Out and About Room 4 - Power walk out of here Room 5 - The right tool for the job Room 6 - Time to go mining Room 7 - Make sure to ride the right lift. Room 8 - There's always a back door. End! - Erm, kablooie. On a final note, there is a hidden deployable cover somewhere on the map. Can you find and get it while playing the custom game? Map Gametype (Required).
This is probably one of the best Blackout puzzles i have seen, what exactly is the deployable cover for?
The deployable cover isn't for anything. It is just an item that I've hidden in the map. It's to give you an extra challenge after you've completed all the puzzles, to add some replayability.
the pics work fine for me. looks like a challenging puzzle map and adding the deployable cover for replayability is a good idea. good job
this looks totally sweet and i am definately downloading, ive played a few puzzle maps and yours not only looks the best but also the most possible = )
Thanks for the comments guys. Some of the pics were down for a bit, it's just ImageShack being silly, they appear to be OK again now. Let me know how you guys fair with the puzzles. If you get stuck don't hesitate to ask me for help, I'll be happy to provide extra tips. Don't expect me to accept any friend requests though, my list is practically already full.
this was a sweet puzzle but now to find the deployable cover and I will This map is sweet but it was not as hard as your others but still a challenge
Yeah I did say this one was easier than my others because the puzzle ideas were not my own, I just tweaked the existing ideas that CheatHound23 had already come up with. All I did was create the first puzzle involving the SPlazer. I think this is a nice puzzle map to appeal to the more intermediary level of puzzle player, I wouldn't expect anyone who has played any of my puzzle maps to struggle with this since I did not introduce any new puzzle concepts or even use some of my harder existing ones, it is a far more traditional puzzle map in that sense.
