Voting And the Nominations are... Sanction Roundabout Of Legions Diadem Erasure Voting ends Friday, July 22nd!
I'm not picky. I just hate how all these maps in the more active sections always end up in FHF. This wasn't the case in the earlier days of Reach, where an MLG map would be included in almost every FHF. Cladite and Haze were better maps than most of these recent FHF maps, but they never got their chance because of the anti-MLG attitude that most members of Forgehub seem to have.
Yeah it must be that we hate MLG forgers and gametypes. It couldn't possibly be the fact that we just have a smaller group that adores it like you do. I also don't understand how you can rate these maps quality when you yourself don't forge. Just doesn't seem fair to the creators.
Roundabout does what many MLG maps fail to do; it caters to every type of player. Full teams, lone wolves, casual players, every type of armor ability, etc. That's something which deserve far more than a FHF. I do agree, Haze and Cladite are excellent, but Sanction, Roundabout, and Of Legions are all just as deserving as those two MLG maps.
Roundabout is not an MLG map. You have played it, correct? Of Legions was terrible, though. I don't get what people like about that one. Well, in the end I voted Sanction, but there were many better maps that were missed on this list, being replaced by less deserving maps.
You forget that the site collectively nominated these maps first, and out of 7 maps, 5 entered the voting stage due to substantially higher nominations. If you had a map you wanted in FHF, then nominate it. Other people will likely nominate it if they agree, if they don't... it's just tough ****. As for IXX, I thought we were at 19 xD
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Have you ever played a good-looking, balanced infection map that was fair to both the zombies and humans? If the answer is yes, you have played LD's map. If you said no, you have not played his map. Simple as that.
And thanks for openly bashing mine and others maps when we had nothing to do with them being chosen and voted. I didnt even know I was in this until this thread was made.
I don't enjoy Infection. Balanced or not, I'm going to hate it. The map might be good by Infection standards, but by any other standards, it's average at best. Is everyone on Forgehub like this when someone gives an honest opinion that they did not like a map? Not every map can appeal to every player, but it seems no one here can understand this. I thought Sanction was the only map here that deserved inclusion in this list. This would be the first time I felt that no map in here deserves to win FHF. Just my opinion. You don't even have to agree.
This is my problem as well.... A LOT of great maps out there. But there can only be one... I voted for Roundabout, partially because it's an asymmetric map, although there was another asymmetric map within the contest that I was torn between. I really don't think there is as much of the anti-MLG environment around here as there used to be. I do think that the MLG forum does go more unnoticed, however thats where you can make an impact by nominating the outstanding maps there. Or you could even start a discussion in the forge forums about the maps to give them more exposure so others can discover them.
I abhor infection, its the worst gametype ever. One team can die while the other can't? That just screams unbalanced. That aside, judging an infection map by any other standards is beyond stupid. That is exactly like judging beer according to a wine rater. "Welp, this lager tastes AMAZING for beer, but I don't really like beer, and when you go off the standards of wine that I am used to it tastes shitty." Don't even bother trying to defend your statement; blinding looking at everything from a single viewpoint grants you only that; a single viewpoint. You will never experience anything outside of it and be a constant victim to confirmation bias. In other words, you will never grow. That would be like loading up a map and playing the entire thing from your starting spawn, then claiming that it didn't look good because the base was simple, even though the rest of it (according to both logic and Schrodinger) would have been the most beautiful thing. Its simply... dumb.
Also...MLG maps get nominated all the time. The fact that one didn't make it this one time isn't a trend, a denouncement of MLG, or the end of the world.
