So on the map I'm working on, I'm trying to create a mini golf ball launcher. Now I can get the launcher to work without too many problems, but trying to get the golf balls to respawn is proving to be a pain. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the golf balls to respawn quicker? or have any ideas for a reloading section or anything like that that? (preferably a respawn fix)
Tried that. The golf balls just don't respawn. I had them set on 10 sec respawn as well as had the min/max both the max number and still nothin.
Why not a one second respawn? If that doesn't work, maybe you could try to do something with HaloBall since you can have as many golf balls as you want, like the map avalanche.
So I decided to go with the Haloball gametype for this ordeal and it does work fairly well. It's not exactly what I wanted, but eh, I'll live. My new question is is there any way to control the spawning of the golf balls, becuause it's just really slow at this point, and I would like the pace to be picked up a little bit.
You could place actual golf balls in forge and label them SkeeBall_object. Then put the spawn time on instant. And make sure you add atleast one hill marker with the label 'ball drop spawn loc' or the game won't work. With this method you'll won't be able to have unlimited amount though.
Firstly my map golf ball challenge does what you need its in my signature download to see the golf ball spawn back instantly but read this and youll understand how to get golf balls instantly with a unlimited supplt . MUST BE DONE WITH HALO BALL GAMETYPE. This is what you need to do if you want it to spawn in less than a second. Place a kill area or soft kill area somewhere, wherever you want then as soon as the golf ball hits that it respawns back to its original position so for example say if you wanted a ball to roll across the floor to get to the other side but if it fell off you would have to (you normally have to wait a while for it to respawn) just place a kill area underneath it and it will respawn back to its original spawn THREAD CLOSED lol.
So a kill area actually affects the golf balls in HB ? That's weird I swear this could be solved easy if the teleporters could teleport golf balls D: lol Thanks alot. I'll try that when I get onto my xbox later
Not really. The golf balls in Haloball act like objectives (flags and bombs) in other gametypes, and like those objectives, when they hit a kill volume they disappear and respawn at their starting point. This is to prevent objectives from getting stuck outside of the intended play area of the map for any length of time. A regular golf ball from the toy object category isn't an objective, so it follows the same spawn rules as other moveable objects more or less - it has to be moved and then come to rest for a while before it will despawn and respawn.
Ah, that actually makes sense then. Ugh I really wish that you weren't forced into a team game when using the HB gametype <_<.
